Washington D.C. Part 1

We decided to take a fun family trip to Washington, D.C. earlier this month! We thought it was a good time to take them since Aidan has started learning history in school, and Avery will start next year. They got to miss two days of school and were so excited. Daniel found a townhome on VRBO that we rented for our stay and it was close to the Capitol building and the Smithsonian museums! We did two of the museums on our first day, and then we headed to the Capitol building for our pre-planned tour. When we went to our Congressman Pete Sessions' office he greeted us himself and spent some time with us and was so nice! Then one of his interns led us on a tour where we got to see the original Supreme Court and Senate rooms, statuary hall, the main rotunda room (under construction) including a statue of Ronald Reagan made with pieces of the Berlin Wall, and the current Senate room (no pictures were allowed in there)! Our house:

Air & Space Museum:

Museum of Natural History (highlights were a butterfly exhibit Avery and I did, and a really neat photography exhibit):
