We had a small backyard Halloween party with some of our Wylie neighbors, and we teamed up with our friends Mark and Ashley to do a Tiger King-themed booth dressed as Joe Exotic, Carole Baskin, and the whole crazy gang! Our kids even got in on the action (well, Aidan agreed to just the mauled-up hand) and we won Best Costume! We had stiff competition...other families dressed as Wreck-It Ralph, Inside Out, A League of Their Own, Five Nights at Freddy's, etc. so we were shocked that we beat them!

Football and Other Miscellaneous
Aidan was BUSY this month with lots of football games, and although he's just a freshman and has spent most of the games on the sidelines, he has gone in for some plays and even scored some points as a kicker!! Naturally, that's the game I missed because I was celebrating birthdays with friends. They also became District Champs! Playoffs here they come! In other news, the kids got their school pics taken, Aidan and the freshmen class won the "Patriot Games" contest, Avery made a beautiful Lichtenstein-inspired piece for art, Aidan and I did a service project, and I early-voted!
Avery's 13th Birthday!
We officially have two teenagers!!! I had planned to take her to New York this fall like I took Aidan last spring for his 13th but Covid has delayed that until who knows when? So we had a low-key celebration at home with her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friend Ryleigh. We started off the day with birthday donuts, and I also got a Sign Gypsies yard sign which was so cute! A few of our Wylie neighbors gave her some cards and gifts, and she got lots of phone calls from family that couldn't make it. We are so proud of the young lady she's growing up to be and can't wait to see what the future has in store for her!
Homecoming!
We kicked off the busy month of October with Wylie Prep Homecoming! Monday was Seaside Day and Aidan's "house" picked Shipwrecked for their theme which was perfect since I had just gotten Aidan a "Wilson" t-shirt from Amazon! Wednesday was Musical Day and his house picked Shrek (he and his friends were the three pigs and big bad wolf) while Avery and her friends were Grease pink ladies! Friday was Spirit Day at school, followed by the high school HoCo dance that night for Aidan (pictures, dinner, party bus, dance, swimming after-party made for a LONG but fun night!) and HoCo middle school social for Avery!
