Sic 'Em Bears!

Even though we've gone to tailgate a couple times this season, we haven't been to an actual game in a couple of years or so! My buddy Courtney asked me to go to the last home game of the season, against TCU. After we bought tickets we found out it was going to be SUPER cold, so I bundled up with my long johns, sweats, double socks, furry boots, gloves, hand and foot warmers, hat, and wearable blanket, and I was good to go! My wearable blanket was a little too close to TCU colors but I don't play around when it comes to staying warm. We tailgated for a little bit where I got to see Jenna, then we met up with Jen during the game. Courtney's son Blake marched with the TCU band which was fun to see! Baylor lost in the last 3 seconds which was devastating but it was such a terrific game.

What the Kids Have Been Up To

Aidan and Avery are keeping us busy! A big thing that happened was that Avery got her driving permit! I took her driving in an empty parking lot and she did great. Maybe one of these days we'll be brave enough to try roads!

Aidan wrapped up football season and he had a grandparent fan section at his last home game! We also hosted the whole varsity team for dinner to celebrate the season and honor the seniors.

The morning after football season ended, Aidan started basketball practice! We are so excited to finally have an awesome gym for our home games and are looking forward to a great season!

Both kids sang with youth choir one Sunday!

Happy Halloween!

We always love doing Halloween with our old neighbors! We started things off with a couples party (Daniel and I went as Rip and Beth from Yellowstone). And on Halloween we went back to the 'hood so Avery could trick or treat with her friend, plus we never get trick-or-treaters at our house anyway! I helped my friends pass out candy, then a few of us went to a haunted car wash and a haunted house which were so fun! Aidan hung out with friends (say hello to Summer!) and didn't really get into costume but still had a good time!

Avery's 15th Birthday!

For Avery's birthday, we decided to have a "Foamy Fifteenth" party with a Starbucks theme and a foam machine! Daniel and I got ambitious and decided to make some cake pops by ourselves and I don't think we will be going on Cake Wars anytime soon (they were delicious but ugly)! My mom made a Starbucks sign and my friend Karli helped with a cute balloon arch and a "Frappe Birthday" sign. The foam machine was a LOT of fun and even Griffin got in on the action! Aidan and his friends showed up to play basketball on the driveway, and all of a sudden the girls were very interested in shooting some hoops :) On her actual birthday we celebrated with the Dixons and Halls. Happy 15th Avery!!

Aidan's HoCo!

Aidan's Homecoming was so much fun! Spirit consisted of "Anything But a Backpack Day" (he and a friend carried their books in a cooler but he wound up in someone's kayak), "TV Show Day" (his "house" was Phineas and Ferb) and Spirit Day/Pep Rally on Friday! On Saturday he looked super dapper and had a great time with his class taking a party bus from pictures to dinner to the dance to our house for the after party!
