Burger's Lake!

Our annual trip to Burger's Lake did not disappoint! Avery surprised us all by going off one of the high dives, down the big slides, and even on the trapeze! We always have a great time with the Denneys and the Lackeys!

Avery's Summer So Far

 Avery has been having a great summer too! She went on the middle school choir mission trip to San Antonio, worked VBS, has been taking care of her blackberry bush, and is taking private swim lessons whenever she can. She and I just joined NCL so we have been doing a few NCL/YMSL joint volunteer projects with Aidan!

Aidan's Summer So Far

Summer is in full swing! Aidan has been working at Bahama Bucks and while he's not exactly loving it, he's earning money and one of his buddies from school got a job there too! He went on a church choir mission to Colorado Springs earlier this month and had a blast (I think Colorado is his happy place). He had most of the guys from school over to swim and a few of them have had workout sessions in our barn as well (he's also been practicing with the varsity football team when he can!). 

Gigi

We lost Daniel's sweet grandmother Ruth ("Gigi") last month. We were very fortunate to say good-bye to her a couple days before she passed away, and she was in good spirits right up until the end. Gigi was kind, intentional, and loved her family fiercely. She was such an important part of Daniel's life growing up, and we all adored her and enjoyed every moment we got to spend with her.

 May was kind of low-key which was a nice follow-up to our busy April!

We went to Midland for Aunt Jeri and Uncle Reggie's 70th birthday party (we also saw my cousin Scott's family while we were there):
