Bring It On!

Avery just finished up a week of Mini Cheer Camp at a nearby cheer facility.  They offer a cheer program at her school starting in kindergarten so I put her in this camp to see if she'd be interested. She definitely had fun, but my little space cadet was a bit of a hot mess :). Can't argue that she looked adorable though!

Summer Sports

I signed Aidan up for a basketball clinic with the Harlem Globetrotters this week!  They taught the kids some tricks, did some drills, and Aidan got them to sign his basketball. The price of the clinic also included two tickets to see the Globetrotters play in Dallas in a few months!

He has also been doing an Athlete Training Camp through his school twice a week. The varsity coach is working with elementary-age boys on football techniques and Aidan absolutely loves it. It is HOT but the boys don't seem to mind!

Welcome Summer!!

Both the kids are out of school and we officially kicked off summer this week!  Here's some of what we did for fun:

We met my friend Shannon and her kids (Gracie is Avery's age and Ramsey is just a couple months old!) at this new place called Kid Mania that the kids loved!
That same day my Aunt Jeri and my cousin Jessica were in town visiting my other cousin Meredith, so we met all of them for a nice patio lunch.
The weather has been warm but not hot, so the kids were able to get out for some bike and skateboard riding! Aidan just got his skateboard for his birthday and is still getting the hang of it
Today we met my friend Courtney and her boys Blake and Cody at Amazing Jake's for a few hours of pizza, games, and fun!
We did some other fun stuff...we baby-sat Avery's friend Ambrielle, we swam with our cousins, and we met Tracey and Kaelyn for ice cream. Hooray for summer!!!

Comanche

It had been almost a year and a half since we had been to Comanche, so last weekend we drove out to visit Gigi, Cookie, and Jeff. It was a laid-back and relaxing visit!  We went to the pool, visited the Comanche Historical Museum (lots of cool displays for the kids to see, including photos/paintings of two of their great great great great grandfathers!) and went to church in the morning. It was great to spend some time with family!

Avery's Preschool Graduation

Last Thursday was a very bittersweet day...not only did Avery graduate from Pre-K, but it was our last day at Northlake MDO!  Aidan first went when he was just 16 months old and I can't imagine not dropping one of my kids off there on Tuesdays or Thursdays anymore. I loved having them go to preschool at our church where we knew the fabulous ladies that were their teachers.  My kids learned so much, were nurtured and cared for, had fun and made great friends, and came to know more about Jesus and His love for them. And I couldn't have made it through the toddler and preschool years without those ten hours a week to myself :)  Avery, we are so proud of you!!  I know you are going to be an amazing kindergartner :)
