VBS and Answered Prayers
Our Vacation Bible School was this week, which is something the kids and I always look forward to! We invited a lot of friends including classmates, girls from Avery's troop, Sage and Logan, Kaelyn, and even our next-door neighbor Nathen :)
We also got to see friends of ours that moved away when the kids were little! George and Lindsay Jacobus's kids came to our VBS this week and we went bowling with them and their grandparents and cousins! Even though the kids don't remember each other, it was great to see them together!
Also this week, while my parents were in Colorado visiting Uncle Jason and Aunt Kelly, Jason came down with a scary bout of viral meningitis. He had to be care-flighted to a hospital in Denver and put on antibiotics (once they sedated him enough to do an MRI and make the diagnosis) and he made a miraculous recovery! It was a very uncertain couple of days but God is SO good, as usual, and had everything under control. Jason is home but is still on the mend. I am so thankful for my awesome brother, and for all of God's plans that were put into place, such as my parents being there and his amazing wife by his side.
Summer Fun!!
Diving right into summer headfirst with Fun Day Friday at church, playdates with friends, and tons of swimming!

Twilight Camp
Avery had her first Girl Scout camp this week! She did a local Twilight Camp, which met from 6-10pm the first four nights, and the last night was until midnight! I made sure she slept late and took naps because she's not the biggest night owl, but she did great! Every night she came home all smiles. Cousin Sage and their friend Becca were all in Avery's service unit which made it a lot of fun (and carpooling with the Dixons was a huge help!). They did crafts, science, s'mores, nature walks, and more. Here are some pictures from her service unit leader, and the last picture is of her "pickle bucket" that Grammy made, and the swaps I made for her to pass out :)

Road Trips
My mom came to town and we took the kids on our annual road trip to West Texas! We went to Midland to see Mema, Aunt Jeri, Uncle Reggie, and Cousin Jessica. The kids swam in their pool and we had our Midland food staples (Luigi's, Tex-Mex, and McCaslin home cooking!).
Then we stopped in Hodges on the way back to see Great-Pa and Gamma!
That weekend after my mom went home we headed to Waco to see the Brookses! We swam in their new pool and went to dinner at the Baylor Club at McLane Stadium!
