Grandparents' Day

This week Grandpa Steward came up from Crawford to go to Grandparents' Day with Aidan. After all the classes performed in the auditorium, they went back to their classrooms to meet the teacher, and Aidan also got a card from Papi and Grammy and Florida! After that the grandparents got to sign the kids out early for a day of fun, so Grandpa took the kids fishing at the pond near our house. We are very thankful for all of the grandparents in our life, and love them very much!!

Tiger Scouts

Aidan has just joined Cub Scouts! He goes to the school near our house and is in Tiger Scouts with other first-graders. He has already earned one belt badge for soccer, and knows the Cub Scout sign, salute, and motto. I just think he's adorable in his uniform :) Would you like to buy some popcorn??

Soccer Shots

I enrolled Avery in a local 8-week Soccer Shots class which works on soccer drills. She is still grasping some basic concepts (such as "don't touch the ball") but she's having fun! Today they had an odd number so Aidan got to join in their scrimmage. He'll probably do Upward Soccer again in the spring and I think we'll sign Avery up too...it will be her first team sport!

Jailbreak Mud Run

I did another fun mud run with my friends Tracey, Kimberly, Ginny, and Nichole this past weekend! We did the Jailbreak again and it wasn't as muddy as last year, but we still had a blast! Our shirts say "Team Super Foxy"...we found them at Target and thought they were PERFECT!
To getting dirty and having fun!!!

Jollypalooza 2012

It had been way too long since my cousins on my mom's side and my brother and I had gotten together...so we picked a weekend that actually worked for everyone to drive in (from Austin, San Antonio, Fort Worth, Midland, and College Station) and hang out at our house along with our two spouses, two significant others, and four kids. Aidan and Avery got to play with their second-cousins Tyler and Clara, and they became fast friends! We didn't even see much of the kids because they played upstairs together almost the whole time, while the "grown-ups" (ha!) had a blast downstairs. It was easy to lose track of time...Avery was up until 11, and Aidan lasted until midnight! Now that I think about it, that's how we spent family gatherings growing up. The cousins were always playing in some room for hours on end while our parents hung out in the main part of the house :) As adults we have just as much fun together and this was no exception. There was food, there were games, there were jam sessions, there were cigars, and there were goofy pictures (including one where we re-enacted a cheesy cousin portrait our moms had taken of us in 1989...we added in Cole who wasn't born yet!). I love these guys and girls so much and hope we don't wait another 3 year for our next get-together!!
