Mother/Daughter Weekend

Daniel and Aidan went dove hunting with Marcus and James this weekend, so Avery and I had a weekend to ourselves! In addition to the Girl Scout movie night Friday night, I took her to see a silly Rapunzel musical at Dallas Children's Theater on Saturday. We even ran into our friends Tiffany and Reagan!
Before the musical we ate at a nearby Mexican restaurant that my family went to when I was growing up. The same waitress has been there for almost 40 years and she still remembers my parents!
After the musical we went to my cousin Sara's house for her baby's baptism celebration! It was fun to see my aunt, uncle, and cousins...and cute baby Gwen of course :)

Girl Scout Fun

Avery just started her second year of Daisy Scouts, which means I just started my second year of being a leader! We have six returning girls and four new ones, and my co-leader Kimberly and I are really excited about this year! We had our first meeting, and this past weekend we went to a movie night with our entire service unit (our friends Tracey and Tammie and their Brownie troop hosted the event). The girls brought their sleeping bags to a local school cafeteria and watched Teen Beach Movie in their pajamas. So much fun!

School Spirit

Avery got to cheer with the elementary school girls at a GCA varsity football game! It was Elementary Night and the kids always have a great time...Aidan prefers playing football with his friends behind the bleachers over actually watching the game.
I also got to eat lunch with them the other day. Their classes eat in the cafeteria around the same time which is so nice!
And now for a terrifying development...Aidan has started playing the recorder for school!!

Sic 'Em Bears!!!

Our Baylor Bears just kicked off a new season in their brand-new stadium, and we were there to cheer them on! It was HOT but we have great season ticket seats in the shade (thank you Marcus and Daniel) and McLane Stadium did not disappoint. The Bears were welcomed by a sold-out crowd, fireworks, and big names like George W. Bush, Rick Perry, our awesome coach Art Briles and of course Robert Griffin III! We even saw RG3 posing by his new statue as we were leaving the stadium. We left at the start of the 4th quarter because we were up by so much (we beat SMU 45-0). I may have stolen a couple of my pictures from Instagram...if only we were that close to the action! Sic 'Em!!!
