Stella meets Chloe, Hunter, and, more!

We kept Chloe for Tracey and David while they went to visit Kaelyn, and Stella had so much fun meeting her new friend! They got along great, napped together, and played together although that ended up being not so fun for me because it absolutely POURED the night before Chloe arrived, which meant our yard was a swamp. Even though I spent the whole time wiping off muddy dog paws, it was so fun to see them getting along! Kimberly even brought Hunter over for a playdate too! Stella wasn't feeling 100% because a bone of Chloe's she ate may not have agreed with her (which made for even MORE cleanup on our end) but still was happy to make new friends!

She has also loved meeting some of our friends and family, including Cousin Nala from next door!

Fun with Friends

We got together with lots of friends this month! First I went on a girls' weekend to celebrate my friend Hollie's birthday. Her wife Melody rented a VRBO house in Cedar Creek Lake and we spent the whole weekend having fun, eating, laughing, and doing nothing!

Then Hollie turned around and threw a surprise party for Melody who had gotten her Master's the month before. Everything at Karli's was beautiful and delicious as always!

Impromptu Friday lunch. These girls are so much fun!

Avery and I also had lunch with my cousin Melissa who was in town with her daughter for a choir concert and an SMU tour!

I also got to have lunch with Whitney after Tiffany came to spend the night with Avery!

Stella!

We started off 2025 with a fun new addition to our family! Daniel and I were finally ready to look for another dog after missing Griffin. We thought we wanted a weimeraner but came across a picture on a general rescue site of a sweet dog that reminded us of Griffin. They listed her breed as Catahoula Leopard Dog, which was 1/3 of what Griffin ended up being (we loved her leopard-y tale!) although she is probably a mix of other things. We kept looking for weimers, but after a week of not finding the right candidate, we realized we couldn't get "Malibu" out of our head. We drove to Weatherford to meet her at her foster home, and after falling in love immediately we brought her home. Avery was at DNow with church for the weekend so we surprised her the next day when she got home! She helped us change Malibu's name to Stella, then we FaceTimed Aidan so he could meet her too. We got her right before a cold snap, and she seemed to love the pink sweater we got her! Stella is sweet, affectionate, loves people and other dogs, and has a very healthy appetite. She is fitting right in and has made herself at home!

Kicking off 2025

After one last hibachi dinner with Aidan, we said good-bye to him the next day ash e left for his second semester at Arkansas. He has made a good group of friends (he rode back to school with one of them) and they are going to be apartment roommates next year!

Avery helped serve at a "Madrigal Dinner" with school choir, went to her boyfriend Jack's hockey game senior night, and was my date at a studio opening in Dallas!

Finally, Daniel and I went to see Jim Gaffigan (one of our favorite comedians) perform in Fort Worth!
