Valentine Playdate

We had kind of a low-key week due to the ice storm. On Monday we went to Aidan's playgroup and made some valentines. Avery is walking EVERYWHERE now. She loves it! The hiney picture is the kids on their way to the shower, part of their nightly routine. Daniel (who has always done bathtime for the most part) came to the conclusion that showers are easier. They entertain themselves pretty well in there!

KD Reunion Weekend

This past weekend I got together with several of my sorority sisters, some of which I hadn't seen since I graduated from Baylor 10 years ago!! Most of the gang lives in the DFW area but my good friend Leslie flew in from New Orleans and we had others in from Houston, Oklahoma, even Washington D.C.! We had dinner at Blue Goose on Friday night:


Then on Saturday we all met at the mall with our kiddos, and Avery got to play with her friend Grace who is just a couple of weeks older. This is the best we could do with a group shot:



Then that night we had "spa night" but I didn't think to take any pictures :( Afterwards a few of us met up for a late dinner. What a great weekend...I had a blast seeing everyone!!! Thanks to my wonderful husband for helping out with the kids so I could go enjoy myself!

Inauguration Day

Today was a historic day for our country and I wanted my kids to be a part of it! Aidan can now identify "Obama" and "Michelle."

Camera Subjects

While Daniel was in New York this week (thankfully he flew back on American today, not US Airways!) I got a surprise in the mail...he had ordered me a new Nikon D40 SLR camera! I'm so excited to get better-quality photos and even more excited about not having such a child-unfriendly delay when I snap a picture.

This week, while my two friends Jen and Amy have been successfully in potty-training their 2-year-old daughters (way to go Corinne and Taylor!), here is what our potty is being used for...toy storage.



This is why "quiet" is never a good sound when the kids are awake....I usually find them up to no good. Don't worry, all hands and toys were washed, not that there has ever been any pee or poo in this potty anyway.

2008 in Review

Here are some highlights from last year that we will remember:

We celebrated Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, and 4th of July.

We spent the day in Weatherford with The Jolly Family.

Aidan turned TWO! We had an Elmo birthday party at The Little Gym and celebrated with all his friends and family.

Cousin Sage was born!!!

We went to West Texas with Grammy to see Great-Pa, Gamma, Mema, and the McCaslins.

Aidan took a Soccer Tots class.

We bought a new house (and also a new minivan)!

I took the kids on their first airplane ride to see Grammy and Papi in Florida.

Avery took a Gymboree class.

We went to the State Fair of Texas!

Avery turned ONE! We had a family party for her at the new house.

The kids dressed up as Mickey and Minnie for Halloween, with help from Grammy. We trick-or-treated with our friends the Jacobuses, who had moved to College Station earlier that year.

We got to see our friends the Brookses a lot more when they moved from Austin to Waco, and the kids bonded with Katy, Hannah, and James.

Speaking of Waco, we went to Baylor Homecoming. Sic 'Em Bears!

We spent an early Thanksgiving in Comanche with Gigi, and then had Thanksgiving at our house with Papi, Grammy, and Uncle Jason

The kids and I met up at Baylor with my good friends Leslie and Jen and their kiddos Jack, Theo, and Corinne.

We celebrated Christmas at home with the Waggoner/Dixon Family, Steward Family, and Lewis Family.



Whew, what a year! We can't wait to see what 2009 has in store for us :)

An Officer and a Gentleman

We went to the "Frontiers of Flight" museum with our friends Tracey and Kaelyn today. I took Aidan about a year and a half ago and he loved it. We didn't get to see the big planes as much today because they were having some kind of naval ceremony (which was neat in itself!). But they have a fun toddler area, and Avery got to ride the same "Jay Jay" ride Aidan did when he was her age.
