Back to School!

Aidan and Avery started school this week! Aidan is in second grade and Avery is a very excited kindergartener :) Here are pictures from Meet the Teacher Night and their first day. Avery had a great first day but was exhausted (there were some tired tears last night). Luckily she handled it better today, and I'm very thankful for the rest time her class has in the afternoons. She has Mrs. Heidelberg which we are very excited about...our family has been doubly blessed with her as our kids' kindergarten teacher! Aidan has Mrs. Denman and she seems super nice. He says she's really funny, and he has been in a great mood both times I've picked him up. Sign of a great year to come!

Instagram Dump

Here are some random pics from summer that I haven't posted:

Last month we had three of Aidan's classmates over that all have sisters going into kindergarten with Avery! She knew one of them from blastball, but didn't know the other two well...but they all got along great and had a blast playing! The boys had fun too while the moms and I chatted. It's from last month, but it was a cute one that I can't believe I haven't posted!
Aidan played in a summer basketball league. Here he is with his friend Mohammad at their last game:
Before I took the kids to see their grandparents on Tuesday, we stopped and had lunch with Daddy downtown:
The Three Musketeers from preschool days (Aidan, Chase, and Tate) got together when all the church kids went roller skating!
That night Chase and Ambrielle spent the night (we had lots of "double sleepovers" this summer) and we made some s'mores on the patio!
We taught Aidan how to play Clue and he won his first game!
The kids and I got a random craving to make some cookies from scratch one day:
Brushing up on handwriting before school starts:
Swimming with Connor and Cousin Sage:
We hung out with our friends the McGrews!  Bryce is Aidan's very first friend, back when they went to our church and our class all had babies around the same time :)

Waco Day

Daniel was in NY until late last night, so the kids and I weren't in a rush to get home after I picked them up from Grandpa. So we made some leisurely stops to see the Baylor Bears, visit the Mayborn Museum (a really neat kids' museum close to campus that we had never been to), and then we stopped in West to get some kolaches!

Camp Grandpa and Nanna

The kids and I had NOTHING to do for three days this past week...so I thought they might like to spend a couple nights at Grandpa and Nanna's in Crawford! I met Grandpa in Hillsboro on Tuesday afternoon, then Daniel and I enjoyed a fun date night with our friends Katie and Nick that night. Then I spend the entire day on Wednesday organizing the house and throwing out some stuff to get ready for school. SO easy to do with no kids around! That night I drove down to Waco to hang out with Jenna, then the I picked up the kids on Thursday. Here's some pictures that Aunt Kathleen took. Poor kids, it doesn't look like they had any fun :)

When we met up with Grandpa on Tuesday, I ran into my second cousin Jenny that I hadn't seen in years! At the Braums in Hillsboro, what are the odds? It was so great to see her...without Facebook we might not have recognized each other. So fun!
