I took Aidan for his "happy visit" at the dentist today. They basically wanted to let him see the dentist's office and show him the tools they would use at his first actual visit. He got to test them out on the stuffed alligator's teeth. At the end he got to pick out a toothbrush and a toy. We'll go back in November for his first check-up.

Happy Birthday Aidan!
Aidan's 3rd birthday is on Monday and we had his birthday party today at Pump It Up Junior. It was tons of fun and Aidan and his friends had a blast (so did Avery!!). The kids played in the bounce room for an hour and then we had pizza and cake. Thanks Rhett, Wyatt, Kaelyn, Jake, Ryan, Taylor, Tate, Lily, Jack, Baby Kenny, Baby Bryce, Baby Sammy, and Cousin Sage for celebrating with us today! And thank you to all of our family for helping make the day special! Happy Birthday Aidan, we love you so much!!!

Avery at 18 Months
Avery had her 18-month check-up yesterday and tipped the scales at 21 lbs. 7 oz. (10-15th percentile) and is 32" long (60th percentile). She has another ear infection, her third. She pretty much has had chronic fluid in her ears since she was tiny. So we're on yet another round of Amoxicillin, and the doctor is going to check her hearing at our follow-up visit in a month. Although Avery understands a lot, she is not saying any words yet so I'm wondering if this ear fluid is the problem. Who knows, we may be looking at getting tubes put in if the problem doesn't resolve itself soon. Stay tuned!
Great-Grandparents
Over the past week the kids have been visited by all three great-grandparents on my side of the family. Great-Pa and Gamma came in from Abilene last weekend (Grammy, Papi, and Uncle Jason were also here). Aidan got some cute clothes from them for his birthday, and also got some legos, books, and Hot Wheels from Papi and Grammy! They also brought the kids gifts from their Ireland trip, a shirt for Aidan and a doll for Avery. Then Mema flew in from Midland for a couple days this week. Grammy will be here through Aidan's birthday party this weekend. What fun!

Bon Appetit!
Today was our field trip to "Young Chefs Academy" in Plano. The kids got to make breadsticks, one sweet (with cinnamon and sugar) and one savory (with herbs and cheese). Aidan had a blast and his breadsticks were delicious! My mom is in town so she was there to help corral Avery...who enjoyed eating the finished product!

Aidan and Kaelyn
While at the zoo, my friend Tracey and I took pics of our kids next to the fish tank for the third year in a row. It's amazing how much they change in a year!

Egg Hunt Montage
We had a great Easter, even though it rained here yesterday morning. Luckily we had taken the kids to the park on Saturday for an egg hunt. Plus Aidan had one at school last Thursday (Avery was sick that day so she didn't get to go), and we had one with our MOMS Club last Monday, when it was freezing cold!. Aidan loves to hunt for eggs, and Avery loves to eat what's inside :) They make a good team! After church on Sunday we had our traditional Easter lunch at Aunt Amy and Uncle Cody's, and had one last Easter hunt indoors.

Bluebonnets
My friend Tracey and I took the kids to a great bluebonnet field in Sachse. It was Avery's first bluebonnet experience since I missed them last year...she was kind of not feeling it (she's been a tad puny and feverish the past couple of days). But I got a cute one of Aidan and Kaelyn. The last picture is the two of them in the bluebonnets two years ago!

A kid-free post
Daniel and I got married 8 years ago today! I couldn't ask for a better father for my kids and I am honored to call him my husband. Here are some "old school" pics of us. Sorry for the quality, but we didn't have digital cameras back in the stone age. Don't we look young and full of energy? Happy Anniversary Daniel, I love you!!!
This is the first picture of the two of us together. I think this may have been the night we met! The weirdo in the middle is Jenna, our matchmaker:
Daniel's sister Lindsay took this picture for a high school photography assignment right after we got engaged. I love it!
