Golf Camp

Cookie and Jeff invited the kids to Granbury to participate in some of the kids' activities at their country club. So I signed Aidan up for a 3-day golf clinic, and Avery up for a Princess Tea. Aidan liked the golf clinic okay (they did a day of putting, a day of chipping, and a day of long driving) but towards the end I think he figured out that it was a little slow and probably not a sport he'll continue. He also tried a day of tennis camp but decided that wasn't his thing either, even though he seemed to enjoy it while he was out there.
Avery loved seeing all the deer that were wandering around the community! She helped Jeff and Cookie do a 300-piece puzzle, and even tried a little golf herself :)
Jeff took us to play pickle ball (indoor tennis with flat paddles) at their activity center. Aidan picked it up right away and liked it. Avery took a little longer...but at least she looks cute in sporty clothes :)
The princess tea was a lot of fun! Cookie and Gigi came with us and Avery was SO excited to wear her new Elsa dress. Thanks for everything Cookie and Jeff!

Summer Fun

I'm always ready to get the kids back into a routine when fall starts, but I LOVE summer and the laid-back mornings, swimming, and fun with friends that come with it! Aidan and Avery have already had TWO Vacation Bible Schools (one with the church associated with their school, and another one with a friend's church...and there's still our church VBS next month!).
Our church does Fun Day Fridays and I've been letting the kids each bring a friend. Today they took Kaelyn and Ambrielle to Kid Mania (forgot to take pics) and last Friday they brought Brady and Ryleigh to Wet Zone.
My friend Vanessa was out of town and let a few of us have access to her pool. She left a key under her mat in case we needed to go inside for anything, and we *may* have all gone in and taken funny pictures throughout her house :) Here's one of our friend Brad with all the kids!
Our Father's Day was fun and low-key! The kids wrote him some messages at church :) For lunch we went to Fuzzy's Taco where he and Aidan caught up on World Cup Soccer.
Aidan was also super into the NBA Finals. He's a big fan of LeBron James and the Miami Heat, and Papi brought us a Miami jersey when we saw him in Vegas. Aidan was thrilled but unfortunately his team spirit wasn't enough to bring the Heat to victory.
My friend Whitney and her husband Shawn adopted their three foster kids recently! We are so excited for them, and went to a fun shower to celebrate.
Just enjoying some backyard time with Griffin and our cousins!
The Brookses came to visit for a couple days. We took them to Frankie's, of course!!

What Happens in Vegas

Daniel and I took a short trip to Vegas this week! His co-worker Justin who works in the D.C. office and his wife Kate also met us there. We stayed at the Vdara Hotel which was really nice...our room was incredible and so was the pool :) We did a little gambling, got a couples massage (maybe the best massage of my life), went to "Old" Vegas where we did a little more gambling, ate a ton, and we also saw the Michael Jackson ONE Cirque du Soleil which was AMAZING!!! My dad also happened to be there for a conference at the same time, so Daniel and I had dinner with him on our last night. My luck on this trip was awful and I blew all of my gambling money, but it was such a fun trip. Thanks Daniel for a romantic getaway, and thanks Grandpa Steward for keeping our kids for us while we were gone!

Fun at the Zoo

I took the kids to the zoo this past week. Since the last day for most Dallas-area schools wasn't until today, the zoo wasn't crowded at all and we had a great time! We made the rounds and saw all our favorite animals (including the tiger, who's usually pretty elusive!) and we stopped to see Daddy and go to Klyde Warren Park again afterwards :)
