He Is Risen!

Yesterday we did Resurrection Rolls as a family. I got the idea from my friend Tracey last year when she did this with our kids. Marshmallows (white representing Christ) are rolled in butter, cinnamon, and sugar (oils and spices) and sealed in a crescent roll (the tomb). After baking, the marshmallow has disappeared! Great Easter activity for the whole family!

Last night the Easter Bunny did something new and visited us at night! He put eggs filled with glow sticks in a path to big Easter eggs that held their treats (Legos!)

This morning we went to church and then afterwards we went to Cody and Amy's for a potluck they hosted for their church.

Happy Easter, everyone!!!

Moms Club Easter Egg Hunt

The kids both had Easter parties at school on Thursday...I didn't go to Avery's but we caught part of Aidan's (didn't take any pictures though). This morning we hunted for eggs with our buddies from Moms Club, a tradition we've done ever since Aidan was one!

New Patio

Our backyard just got a major makeover! We really wanted a better outdoor living space so we now have some much-needed shade (our house faces east which means we get horrible west afternoon sun), a kitchen, a TV, a firepit, and plenty of seating. We are loving it!

Dallas Blooms

The Dallas Arboretum has "Mommy & Me Mondays" so Avery and I took advantage of the gorgeous weather and headed there with my friend Ginny and her kids this past week. Avery got her face painted, saw animals at the petting zoo, and just walked around enjoying God's beautiful creations!

Girls Weekend!

Last weekend I went with my mom friends on a fun trip to Austin! My mom was on hand to take care of the kids (March is Daniel's crazy month at work which is why he couldn't come with us to West Texas). It was our 4th annual Girls Weekend, but it was our first time to leave Dallas and it was such a blast. Our friend Holly turned 40, so we got a house near the lake and spent the weekend living it up for her birthday! She had a few extra friends that came so it was fun getting to know them (although one of them got sick with colitis and had to be rushed to the hospital in the middle of the night, poor thing!). First we had a "Thrift Store Fashion Show" in which all of us had taken $20 to a thrift store and bought items for our "co-person" (closest friend within the group) to model. Tracey and I bought lovely outfits for each other :) The weather was perfect so we soaked up plenty of sun, and also ate out at some really yummy Austin restaurants. I just love these girls and we always have so much fun together!

West Texas Part 2

After a night in Hodges we drove to Midland to see Aunt Jeri, Uncle Reggie, and Mema. The kids baked cupcakes with Grammy and Jeri, we went to Luigi's to eat (of course), then the highlight of the trip was taking the kids to the Monahans sand hills for the first time! They had such a blast and it was a great way for them to burn off energy :)
