Merry Christmas!
We spent an afternoon decorating gingerbread houses with Sage, Logan, and Ellie! Then on Christmas Eve we went over to their house (with Aunt Lindsay and Uncle Jason) for brunch and present-opening.
On Christmas Eve we went to the service at the church that is associated with the kids' school...which we loved! Afterwards we made cookies for Santa along with carrots for his reindeer, then we read our favorite Christmas stories with Papi and Grammy before going to bed.
The kids raked in tons of goodies, but Avery's favorite gift from Santa was her new American Girl doll, Annabelle. Aidan got a Skylanders Xbox game along with some characters.
I feel I should mention this poor guy. Griffin's ear tips have had wounds on them since the day we got him, and they've never healed. Christmas morning he scratched open a scab and bled off and on all day. The next day the vet wrapped his face in bandages (to keep him from shaking his ears while we treat the ear infection that's causing the shaking and the scratching) and put the Cone of Shame back on. Poor guy! We drove to Crawford that day which Griffin usually loves, but his fun was sort of hindered. Then, he got into a scrap with Kathleen's dog Theo, who is not good with other dogs. They usually keep Theo closed off, but I accidentally let Griffin run past me at the door when Theo was having some outside time, and Griffin charged him. Not good :( Theo gave him a nice puncture wound on his side and on his legs. Hopefully in less than a week he'll get his ears unwrapped, his cone off, and the staples in his side out! Here's hoping for a better 2014 for him :)
Some sweet pictures, before the drama!
The day before Daniel's birthday we went out with some friends to celebrate, then we went to Kobe Steaks the next night with my parents! Then on New Years Eve the kids stayed home and had a party with Papi and Grammy while Daniel and I went out with Cody and Amy and some friends. It was a great way to ring in 2014!
Merry Christmas to you and yours :)
