Out and about

We went to Bryce's 1st birthday party this past weekend. Bryce is only two months older than Aidan, so it will be our turn to celebrate a birthday before you know it! Bryce had a tunnel at his party and Aidan thought it was really neat. I think he may get his own tunnel for his birthday! Today we went to Rhett and Wyatt's house to play. Aidan seemed concerned when Wyatt wasn't all smiles for the picture!

Aidan the Explorer

Aidan is all over the place these days. He has his own un-babyproofed kitchen cabinet that he can open up whenever he wants, and play with the lids and tupperware inside. The toilet paper picture is self-explanatory...just an example of what he does when I leave him alone for two minutes! There is also a picture of his playgroup. We go every other week and are meeting a lot of new friends!

Grammy is in town until Sunday so we are all enjoying her visit. Today she baby-sat while I went to the doctor and then had some free time! She and Aidan went to Dallas to see a family friend who was also baby-sitting a little boy, so Aidan got to meet a new buddy!

Happy Valentine's Day!

This is what happens when it's way too cold to go outside...I get a little bored and dress Aidan up in a biker outfit. Since I am his valentine today, he is sporting his "MOM" shirt. We all three had an early Valentine's Day dinner at Cheddar's on Monday night. I was so lucky to have such handsome dates!

Our first "real" haircut!

Aidan has had his share of bad hair days...Grammy and I have both tried to trim it, but we never do a good job. So today I took him to Cool Cuts, a place that specializes in kids' haircuts. There was a little taxi cab seat for Aidan to sit in and he got to watch a Wiggles video while the lady cut his hair! I could tell she was a pro at managing wiggle worms like Aidan! He got a little fussy at first when she was wetting his hair, and then again when she used the electric trimmer. But I packed some cheerios which helped distract him. He looks very handsome and even got some "product" in his hair!

In other news, he had his 9-month checkup yesterday and everything looks great! He is almost 29 inches long, and weighs 19 pounds 5 ounces. He does have his very first ear infection, probably due to fluid buildup from a stuffy nose he's had, but he hasn't slowed down one bit!

The Wiggles

We went to the Wiggles Play Center in Frisco on Thursday along with Kaelyn, Rhett & Wyatt, and our gym friends Jacob, Dylan, and William. It was a lot of fun and there was a great toddler area that the kids played in. It's a little far away but it was worth the drive!

Our Weekend

We had a busy weekend starting with dinner at our house with Tracey, Kaelyn, and David on Saturday night. The kids had a bubble bath together. We took some pictures to embarrass them in front of their prom dates in a few years. Who knows, maybe they'll be each other's prom date?!? Anyway, Daddy played flag football today and it was so pretty out that Aidan and I went to watch. Then we went to a Superbowl party at Daddy's boss's house and Aidan got to play with his friend Ella.

Let's Go Streaking!

Aidan is such a wiggle-worm lately and it's getting impossible to put clothes and diapers on him. Sometimes he wins the battle and I let him play for a few minutes in his birthday suit (dangerous, I know). I honestly think he'd be happier if I let him go around naked.

Playdate fun

On Tuesday we went to play with some of our friends from gym class. There are four boys (and one girl, but she couldn't make it that day) who are very close in age. They enjoyed eating cheerios off the floor as a group. On Wednesday we baby-sat for Aidan's friend Brooke from church.

Eat at Joe's

We braved the rain Saturday to meet my friend Courtney and her family for dinner at Joe's Crab Shack. She and I have been friends since college, long before kids came along! She and Tadd now have twin 3-year-old boys, Blake and Cody. Aidan loved hanging out with the "big" boys! Also, we had a small football-watching party at our house yesterday. I'm including a picture of Aidan sitting on the couch with Daddy and Uncle Cody.

Chicken in a jar? I don't think so....

Aidan tried his first meat tonight. Until now he's eaten everything I've ever offered him, but tonight he had mixed emotions. I had to disguise it with carrots to get him to eat it. I'm sure he'll get used to it eventually. In his defense, the stuff does smell pretty funky.

Lunch Bunch

Aidan and I have been stuck at home a lot over the past few days because it's been so cold and icey! We did venture out today to meet some of our friends for lunch at Fuddrucker's. We invited Tracey and Kaelyn, Sarah and Rhett and Wyatt, and three of our friends from gym class that have little boys. Our seven babies definitely gave the clean-up crew at Fuddrucker's a run for their money!

Little Gym Ceremony

Here is Aidan "graduating" from his Bugs class at the Little Gym, with his teacher Jeff giving him a round of applause. I'm attaching a picture from his first day, when he was only 4 months old, so you can see how much he's grown! We have made many new friends and we'll be moving up with them to the Birds class.

Here are some photos of Aidan around the house being his sweet, smiley self. In one of the pictures you'll notice he is wearing an honorary police badge sticker that a police officer gave him while we were at lunch on Monday. He's taking his new responsibility very seriously! He graduated from his Little Gym class today. He got a medal and everything! He'll move up to the next class starting next week. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera for the "ceremony" today but a friend took some pictures of Aidan and should be sending them to me.

Gone huntin'

We traveled to Rock Springs, TX this weekend to see Uncle Marcus, Aunt Jenna, Katy, and Hannah. Marcus's family has a ranch there and it's a fun place to deer hunt and hang out. Daddy's friend Jason also came with us so we had a good time. It got pretty cold outside so the kiddos spent most of the time indoors. Getting all three of them to pose for pictures at the same time was nearly impossible so we did the best we could. It was a very long drive but Aidan did great in the car. He was so happy to be home, though!

Here are some more pictures from our holiday, including some from Grammy's camera. Aidan has discovered the joy of babbling, so we hear sounds like "da-da-da" a lot these days. He's pulling up on EVERYTHING now as you can tell! I walked in on him after his nap and was surprised to see him standing in his crib for the first time, so Daddy promptly moved his mattress down that afternoon :)
