Concerts & Banquets

Avery had her pre-UIL concert and did a lovely job!

Aidan had his basketball banquet where the seniors were recognized and put their shoes into the "hall of fame", he and his teammates were awarded 1st Team District and Academic All-State awards, dads gave speeches, his coach was honored after 11 years of leadership (stepping down as coach but will still be our principal and athletic director - he wears a lot of hats!), and his middle school "little brother" gave him the nicest gifts including lots of Arkansas swag! What a great night - and that's officially the END of high school sports!

Bye-bye Basketball

Aidan ended his basketball game this week. The Patriots won District Champs for the second year in a row (the girls won too)!

They lost in the first round of playoffs but played a great game. All five grandparents were there plus cousins, aunts, and uncles including Reggie and Jeri who were in town from Midland! Aunt Rose wore her high school t-shirt in support...she's from South Dakota but they were also the Patriots! All the starters had fatheads which were a huge hit (Addy loved Aidan's!). I can't believe we are out of Aidan's games to watch, and have no more on our calendar. We're so proud of his athletic career!

Night(s) at the Theater!

Tracey and I entered a lottery to win tickets to see Beetlejuice when it played in Dallas. We didn't win, but we still wanted to go. Tracey found amazing front-row tickets that a woman was selling! She has several that her family uses, and had two that couldn't make it that night. Tracey and I decided that she is our new best friend and hope she remembers us next time she has tickets available! Beetlejuice was such a cute show and even though Beetlejuice himself was played by the understudy, he was terrific!

A few days later we watched our favorite theater kid Kaelyn star in her school's production of Mean Girls as Regina George! She was TERRIFIC and it was such a cute show! It's been so fun watching her perform all these years!

Last but not least, Avery went and watched a church friend in a local production of Mary Poppins!

February Fun

We celebrated Valentine's the weekend before with our neighbors, but instead of our usual progressive dinner we decided to do dinner out followed by Bingo (yes, Bingo!) and drinks afterwards at the Pecorinos'.

Then I went to a Galentine's party at Ashley's and we also had another couples' night out!

We hosted some of our friends for the Superbowl, and Aidan had all the boys from his class over too! They watched in the new "party shed" addition to our barn. We (the girls at least) had fun watching Taylor Swift cheer on her boyfriend. Go Chiefs!

There was SO much food left over from our Super Bowl party that I brought it to school the next day to feed Aidan and the seniors.

We also hosted a surprise party for his friend Riley!

Senior Pics

These pictures needed their own post because there were so many and they were all so wonderful! Our WPA photographer Carol did an amazing job capturing Aidan's personality and finding some great backdrops!
