This and That

While Daniel and I were in Vegas, the kids got to spend the weekend in Waco with Papi and Grammy and go to Baylor Homecoming with them!
Avery and I met up with my friend Jen and her daughter Corinne in Waco to watch the Lady Bears play (and win!) a volleyball game!
Aidan had his last regular season game over an hour away in the cold rain! It was NOT fun!
Grammy got to come to Grandparents' Day and see Avery's artwork in the school art show!
The kids and Griffin and I braved a severe storm in our area and were so thankful for our "safe room" in Daniel's closet since he was out of town!
I had dinner with my goofy youth group friends Whitney and Mollie!
Avery has been BUSY lately with schoolwork! Lots of projects and tests. Aidan has too but Avery has really been working from morning until night on her home days. 6th grade is no joke!
School pics!
Halloween! Aidan had his playoff game that night and Avery dressed as Mal from Descendants and went with friends to a classmate's trick-or-treat birthday party.

Avery's 12th Birthday!!

Avery turned TWELVE and we can't believe it! Her birthday fell on a Thursday (which is a satellite at-home day at our school) so she got to hang out at home in her pajamas and work on the Friends Lego set we got her! We went out for hibachi with the Dixons that night to celebrate, and we had her birthday party the next night. We did a scavenger hunt at the Dallas Galleria which was so much fun! I wasn't sure if the girls would be into it, but they split up into two teams and were super competitive! Daniel and I were exhausted after running after them all night. Happy Birthday Avery!

Vegas, Alanis Crossing Style!

We went with a bunch of our old Wylie neighbors to Las Vegas to celebrate the 40th birthdays of three of them! We had a blast...after walking around Friday, a few of us went to see Cirque du Soleil's which was amazing! The next day the guys hung out at a sports bar while the girls all went shopping, sightseeing, and had drinks and hors d'oeuvres at Lisa Vanderpump's cocktail garden, then we met up with the guys and had a very fancy dinner in a private room at Morel's. We stayed at the Venetian for the first time which was amazing, and had a lovely indoor shopping/dining area! After a little daytime gambling and a trip to downtown Vegas the next day, we headed home. This trip almost didn't happen for me and Daniel since we could NOT find anyone to keep our kids and get Aidan to his game that weekend! Luckily his game got rescheduled so Papi and Grammy were able to pick the kids up from school and bring them down to Waco so they could go to Baylor Homecoming with them!
