Old Friends and New Friends!

We kept our friends Ambrielle and Marina while Brad and Kimberly went to a convention. They were our first official overnight guests! The kids had fun swimming and playing, and I took them bowling one day. I only got a picture of Ambrielle and Avery together (pardon the plumber behind them working on Avery's bathtub!).
The kids did a day camp at their school one week which was fun (and a nice much-needed break for me!).
Avery's friend Olivia from home picked her up for a playdate, and when I drove to get her we stayed and swam with our old neighbor friends the Whitfields! We sure miss our neighborhood :(
We had some friends from the new school over for a swim date! Avery knew one of the girls (Finley) when she was her "buddy" the day she visited SCS. The other girl (Greenleigh) was one we hadn't met before, and the girls hit it off so well that Greenleigh stayed for a sleepover! Aidan had met one of the boys (Houston) at a Booster Club party we went to, and the other boy (Jack)'s mom had reached out to me and helped me to get connected which I very much appreciated! The boys all went to an evening youth retreat for part of the week, where Aidan met even more friends!
Some of my mom friends came out to see my house and go to dinner! I miss having them so close!

Jessica and Scott's Santa Fe Wedding

Just a week after we moved into our new house, we boarded a plane for Santa Fe for my cousin Jessica's wedding! It was a fun-filled Jolly weekend with lots of eating, laughing, and celebrating! Also, we finally got to meet Baby Hudson!!! He was so precious and we got several smiles out of him. We got to see a lot of Santa Fe, including the Loretta Chapel (site of the Miraculous Staircase) where they got married. Avery made a fast friend in Scott's niece Arden and they tore up the dance floor together! Aidan and I also went to the Georgia O'Keefe museum on our last day. Congrats Jessica and Scott!

Our new 'hood and 4th of July

Aidan, Avery, and Griffin were shipped off for a couple days while Daniel and I made the big move. Aidan and Griffin went to Grandpa and Nanna's in Crawford, and Avery stayed with her friend Ambrielle one night, then with the Dixons for Sage's birthday sleepover. Their rooms were the first two that I worked on so they were ready when the kids got home! We slowly have tackled other areas of the house, including the gameroom which Daniel tricked out with oversized beanbags, a massage chair, a shuffleboard table (a gift from a family friend!) and a foosball table, and several movie-themed canvas art pieces for the wall which I love! My favorite part of the house right now is the backyard...the pool is great, the trees are big and huge and give lots of shade, and it's a great place to be. Avery has a new trampoline and Aidan has a new basketball goal with a court stencil on the driveway! The kids' rooms are both bigger and they love them. Griffin seems to have adjusted well too!
We went to a 4th of July parade that our new neighborhood organized. We met a couple of families on our street, including a family with two girls around Avery's age. After the parade and party, we drove to our old neighborhood in Wylie because we just couldn't turn down the chance to swim and eat with our old neighbors!
