Bridging to Brownies!

Our Girl Scout troop bridged from Daisies to Brownies today! We started off with an end-of-year party at Sweet and Sassy where the girls got to get their hair, makeup, and nails done and then they walked the runway and did some dancing!
After the party we had our bridging ceremony on a walkway over a creek at the outdoor mall, then celebrated with cookie cake! These girls are so sweet and I have really enjoyed being a leader with Kimberly. Congratulations Avery, Sage, Ambrielle, Haylee, Becca, Margot, Ava, Jaycie, Hailey, and Taylor! Next stop Brownies!!!

Daddy's Big Promotion

This past Friday was a big day for our family. After almost 13 years of working at PWC, Daniel has been promoted to partner. We are so proud of how hard he works to be able to provide for us. On Friday a limo came to pick the two of us up, and the driver even took the kids over to Cody and Amy's on the way, so they got to be part of the excitement for a few minutes!
After a toast at the Petroleum club congratulating retiring partners and welcoming 12 new ones, we headed back to Daniel's office where they surprised him with a glitter bomb, pictures of him around the office (I had helped give them some good ones), his office that was decorated to look like a Bourbon Bar, and more toasts.
That night we went out with the partners from his division. It was a very busy but fun day! Congratulations Daniel!!

Kicking off Summer

My good friend Leslie was in town for a wedding and brought her two boys. Leslie and I see each other at least once a year, but my kids hadn't seen Jack and Theo in almost 7 years!! It worked out great that we got to spend our first official day of summer with them. We went to lunch at Rainforest Cafe, then went to Legoland in Grapevine. Our friend Courtney and her son Cody met us for lunch too (Blake was sick)!
The kids had their first official swim in the Dixons' pool! It was FREEZING but they didn't seem to mind!
Even though we are anxiously awaiting our new house to be completed, our rental house is in a great neighborhood with lots of friends for our kids to play with. We will miss these friends, but are hoping for our new neighborhood to be just as fun!
Right before school got out, I was able to enjoy a nice lunch at the Mansion at Turtle Creek with my mom friends!
Avery finished up her indoor soccer season and got a trophy! She wasn't the most aggressive player and didn't score any goals, but she had a great attitude and tried her best! And she looked adorable in her uniform. Poor Aidan only played THREE out of eight scheduled games this season because this May was the wettest on record. It rained almost every day and outdoor games were cancelled left and right.

Shatzie Ranch

For our annual mini-vacation with Daniel's mom's side of the family, we found a great ranch in Central Texas called Shatzie Ranch. It had two separate lodging houses with seven bedrooms and two kitchens between them, and a game house with another kitchen that we used for most of our get-togethers. There was also a man cave barn, swimming pool, an ATV to use, and lots to do (shooting, fishing, games, etc.). The layout was perfect for our family and we had a miraculous break from the rain during our stay! The kids had a great time hanging out together and we took turns cooking for the group. We will definitely try to come here again!
