Girls Weekend!
Our 6th annual Girls' Weekend was this past weekend and it was a blast! We got a few hotel rooms in Grapevine and kept it low-key this year. We got pedicures on a very rainy Friday, then brunch, then a ghost tour at a winery in downtown Grapevine (rain was gone by then, thank goodness), and the next day we did shopping and massages, dinner out, and brunch the next day before heading home. There was plenty of fun and laughter...I love these girls!!!
Soccer Season
Avery is starting her first season of soccer soon! Her evaluations were on St. Patrick's Day so we went out for pizza in our green afterwards.
Aidan's first outdoor soccer game was today and he loved it! He was getting bored with indoor soccer so this was much more his thing. He's on a team with his friend Caden and they did great today. Grandpa and Nanna were also in town to watch. Go Roughriders!
I had to add this one too...Cousin Logan broke his wrist a couple days ago on their trampoline so we went over to cheer him up the next day. I love how he's looking at Aidan here! Amy said he couldn't wait to show him his arm.

Papi & Grammy's Visit!
Papi and Grammy came to hang out with us for a few days! They took the kids to see Great-Pa and Gamma in Hodges (Daniel had to work, and I stayed home to enjoy a day to myself!)
While Papi had a lunch meeting, Grammy and I took the kids to meet Aunt Marsha for lunch in Grapevine! While we were there, I was suckered into buying two hermit crabs for Aidan. Meet Melvin and Morton!
Daniel and I also got to sneak off for a date night! We went to Wolfgang Puck's 560 at the top of Reunion Tower. It was delicious!
Grammy and I took Avery to see Cinderella! Papi and Aidan went bowling :)
Mini Family Vacay!
Daniel is generally too busy at work with pre-tax season to take a long family vacation over Spring Break. But we did manage to take a small trip to Dallas one night! Grandpa and Nanna took Aidan to the Baylor men's basketball game in Waco Friday night (and they were even briefly on TV in the background!), then they came up to Dallas to see the Lady Bears play in the Big XII Championship Saturday.
While they did that, Daniel and I took Avery to the Dallas World Aquarium. There was tons to see and she loved it!
We met up with Grandpa, Nanna, and Aidan for dinner and then the four of us spent the night at the Joule Hotel in downtown Dallas. It was lots of fun for the kids to stay at a fancy hotel!
Griffin was very happy to see us when we picked him up from the Dixons' the next day!
Kicking off Spring Break!
We had yet another snow day on the last day of school before Spring Break. We had several inches of snow, enough to make actual snowmen! It was fun but I am SO ready for spring!
My friends and I decided to get together and watch The Sound of Music one rainy day! My friend Kimberly had NEVER seen it (gasp!) so it was sort of an intervention for her. She loved it of course, because how could you not? The kids mainly played upstairs but we made them come watch So Long, Farewell, and the girls all came down to watch the wedding scene. It was a fun way to spend the first official day of Spring Break!

Avery's Big Week
In addition to working at TWO booth sales this week, Avery and her class put on a chapel program for their school (unfortunately my flash wasn't working when I took a picture of her solo speaking part). They all did a great job!
Also, my incredible little girl competed in a speech competition through her school today! She had to memorize a 4-verse passage from the Bible and then explain what the verses meant to her. Mrs. Denman (the 2nd grade teacher at GCA who will be Avery's teacher next year) coached them for several weeks. Avery did really well considering it was her first time, and she got a "good" ribbon. I think she needs to work on expression and maybe she can compete again next year! She had a great attitude and wasn't nervous at all. Hard to believe that this is the same girl that was in speech therapy 5 years ago as a toddler because we were worried she'd never talk. Way to go Avery!
