Surfside
We traveled to Surfside (near Galveston) for a beach vacay with Cookie, Jeff, Gigi, Cody, Amy, Sage, Logan, Ellie, Jason, and Lindsay! Cookie and Jeff own a vacation home that they rent out, and we all used it for a few days of family fun! We got brave and decided to take Griffin. He's a great car traveler and after about a day of adjusting to his surroundings at the house, he had a great time. He loved the beach, and so did the kids of course! They paddle boarded, boogie boarded, looked for shells, and made sand castles. We walked along a long jetty one day which was neat. The weather was great and the water felt amazing! We also went to the Sea Life Aquarium one day which worked out great because that was the day it rained most of the day. Daniel's Uncle David and Aunt Phyllis came the last two nights so it was fun to see them.

Summer Catch-Up
We just finished a week of VBS at our church. I helped teach 4th graders and loved it! I was so busy that I only got this one picture of my kids. The theme was Agency D3 (secret agents) and it was so fun!
Aidan had basketball camp at his school last week. He loved seeing his friends!
Avery had her friend Haylee over to play. Haylee's brother is Aidan's friend, and she'll be in Avery's class next year!
Our 4th of July wasn't very exciting. We had planned to all go swim at the Nardos', Daniel's friend from work. But I came down with a bad stomach bug the night before so I sent the three of them without me while I recovered. They even made this cute fruit tray and cupcakes on their own! We thought about going to watch some fireworks that night, but I still wasn't up to it...but we were able to see some fireworks from the backyard!

Golf Camp
Cookie and Jeff invited the kids to Granbury to participate in some of the kids' activities at their country club. So I signed Aidan up for a 3-day golf clinic, and Avery up for a Princess Tea. Aidan liked the golf clinic okay (they did a day of putting, a day of chipping, and a day of long driving) but towards the end I think he figured out that it was a little slow and probably not a sport he'll continue. He also tried a day of tennis camp but decided that wasn't his thing either, even though he seemed to enjoy it while he was out there.
Avery loved seeing all the deer that were wandering around the community! She helped Jeff and Cookie do a 300-piece puzzle, and even tried a little golf herself :)
Jeff took us to play pickle ball (indoor tennis with flat paddles) at their activity center. Aidan picked it up right away and liked it. Avery took a little longer...but at least she looks cute in sporty clothes :)
The princess tea was a lot of fun! Cookie and Gigi came with us and Avery was SO excited to wear her new Elsa dress. Thanks for everything Cookie and Jeff!
