KD Diva Run
This past weekend my very understanding husband kept the kids while I took off for yet ANOTHER girls' weekend! This one was in Galveston with my KD sisters from Baylor and it was a blast. Some of these girls I hadn't seen since we graduated! A few of us signed up for the Diva Run (six of us ran the 5K and two girls ran the half marathon) and the others came to cheer us on. The rest of the time was spent catching up, dining out, and goofing off in the hotel karaoke bar ;) I had just as much fun with these girls as I did 15+ years ago. Some things never change!!

This and That
Aidan and Avery were both star students recently! Avery got to bring a show and tell item each day and on the last day she brought our photo books from our San Antonio and Disney trips. During Aidan's week he got to bring different stuff each day like a family photo, favorite book, show and tell item, and a joke.
Daisy Troop 6542 went on a field trip to PetSmart last week! The girls loved seeing all the little animals up close. We only have two more meetings left for the year...whew!
She also had her dance recital pictures taken yesterday. I am SO not good with updos so her hair didn't look that great. Plus I forgot lipstick for her individual picture, her skirt is too big, and now she has a hole in her brand new tights. But her smile made up for everything :)
Daniel and I got to see Conan O'Brien this week!!! He was taping his show in Dallas this week and I managed to get tickets to one night. I love Conan and this experience was SO much fun!
Urkel and Urkelette making me laugh :)

Girls Weekend!
Just a week after we moved into our new rental home, I left for my annual "weekend with the girls"! The timing couldn't have been better, and I was ready for a break! We decided on Fort Worth this year so we got a hotel and had dinner in Sundance Square Friday night, then walked around the Stockyards. Saturday we took it easy and had an outdoor patio lunch followed by some shopping. Saturday night we went out for dinner again and then headed to a fun club that played only music from the '70s, '80s, and '90s (totally our thing!). After brunch on Sunday we headed home. I love these girls!!

Our crazy Spring Break!
We spent Spring Break packing up and moving out! We sold our beloved house on Bradford Estates and have moved into a rental home in Sachse, while we decide where to build our next house. The kids have done an awesome job adjusting and we are pretty much unpacked and set up. I'll post pics of the new place later :)
Luckily the kids still got to have some fun on Spring Break. They had some playdates with friends while I stayed home packing, and we met our old playgroup friends at the park on Thursday.
Aunt Amy and Uncle Cody offered to take our kids to Granbury on Friday (moving day for us) to see Cookie and Jeff, and we took them up on it! Not only did we have them out of our hair for the big move, but they had a fabulous time with their cousins and grandparents :) Thank you Cody and Amy!
We jumped right back into our routine the following week. We donned our green for St. Patty's Day, of course!
Avery's class had International Day yesterday which I helped coordinate. The kids had a list of countries they've studied to choose from, and Avery and I chose Japan. I borrowed a kimono from a friend of mine (her daughter chose Japan when Aidan's class did it a couple years ago!) and I brought sushi. There was quite a buffet of international foods to enjoy and the kids looked so cute in their costumes! Too bad Avery is blowing her nose in this group pic that another mom took, oh well :)

Avery's First Lost Tooth, I Mean TEETH!
The Tooth Fairy is now getting teeth from two Steward kids! Avery's bottom tooth had been a little wiggly for a few weeks and when brushing her teeth last week, it finally became REALLY loose. It was still hanging in there but was already bleeding a lot so I convinced her (after a little crying) to let me pull it out with a Kleenex. Aidan came in to give her moral support! When we got it out she was super excited and we FaceTimed with Daddy who was working late. She left the tooth in her Tooth Pillow that my aunt had given her as a baby, and the next morning the Tooth Fairy had left her five dollars and a nice note. She couldn't wait to tell her teacher and friends at school! I also noticed that the tooth next to it was wiggly which we hadn't noticed before, and sure enough two days after her first tooth came out I looked in her mouth and her second one was gone! She doesn't remember it coming out so she wrote a note to the Tooth Fairy saying she couldn't find it. The Tooth Fairy, who's been through this situation with Aidan at least twice, was very generous :) I can't believe I now have two kids who are missing teeth!

Phone Dump
I've gotten so bad about taking all of my everyday pictures on my phone, where they stay forever and sometimes get uploaded to Facebook or Instagram. So here's some random things from this month that I want to document:
Both of the kids at their school Valentine's Day parties:
Griffin even got to make an appearance! We had a home inspection so Griffin had to be out of the house for a few hours, so Daniel dropped him off with me where I was finishing up with Avery's class party. The kids LOVED him! Speaking of Griffin, we've discovered that he simply does NOT get along with big male dogs. We first noticed it with my brother's dog Bandit, but figured it was a fluke or maybe a territory thing. When he got in a fight with Aunt Kathleen's dog Theodore we figured it was because Theodore is a super aggressive dog. But a couple of encounters between Griffin and harmless male dogs lately have revealed that he's got some "baggage" from his past life we need to work on. He's great with females, and all small dogs. And he is a completely loveable chill sweetheart around all humans. Hard to believe that a dog with this sweet face has a Cujo streak! Here are a couple of Aidan's creations from his after-school Young Rembrandts program: The snowboarder was fun for him because we were right in the midst of Olympic fever! Aidan LOVES the Olympics and was glued to some of the high-action stuff like hockey and snowboarding. We went to our school's varsity basketball playoff game! They lost miserably but it was still fun: I went up to have lunch with both of my kids one day. Sophisticated as usual: We had lunch with my aunt and uncle who were in town. They had just returned from Hawaii so they gave Aidan a cool boat kit, and a hilarious hula outfit for Avery! We went to Logan's 4th birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese. Gotta love these boys and their "authentic" smiles: Sometimes when we're coming home the kids ask to be let out on the corner so they can run home. I "race" them going 2mph in my car and they think it's the biggest thrill ever. Oh to be a kid :)
