Both of the kids at their school Valentine's Day parties:
Griffin even got to make an appearance! We had a home inspection so Griffin had to be out of the house for a few hours, so Daniel dropped him off with me where I was finishing up with Avery's class party. The kids LOVED him! Speaking of Griffin, we've discovered that he simply does NOT get along with big male dogs. We first noticed it with my brother's dog Bandit, but figured it was a fluke or maybe a territory thing. When he got in a fight with Aunt Kathleen's dog Theodore we figured it was because Theodore is a super aggressive dog. But a couple of encounters between Griffin and harmless male dogs lately have revealed that he's got some "baggage" from his past life we need to work on. He's great with females, and all small dogs. And he is a completely loveable chill sweetheart around all humans. Hard to believe that a dog with this sweet face has a Cujo streak! Here are a couple of Aidan's creations from his after-school Young Rembrandts program: The snowboarder was fun for him because we were right in the midst of Olympic fever! Aidan LOVES the Olympics and was glued to some of the high-action stuff like hockey and snowboarding. We went to our school's varsity basketball playoff game! They lost miserably but it was still fun: I went up to have lunch with both of my kids one day. Sophisticated as usual: We had lunch with my aunt and uncle who were in town. They had just returned from Hawaii so they gave Aidan a cool boat kit, and a hilarious hula outfit for Avery! We went to Logan's 4th birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese. Gotta love these boys and their "authentic" smiles: Sometimes when we're coming home the kids ask to be let out on the corner so they can run home. I "race" them going 2mph in my car and they think it's the biggest thrill ever. Oh to be a kid :)Tuesday, February 25, 2014
Phone Dump
I've gotten so bad about taking all of my everyday pictures on my phone, where they stay forever and sometimes get uploaded to Facebook or Instagram. So here's some random things from this month that I want to document:

Nothing But Net
Aidan is almost done with basketball for the season and has been loving it. He's doing great and scores a few baskets per game! His classmate Braden is on his team, then three of their other classmates are on other teams. And he played against his friend Tate from church today. Go Bears!!

Family Dates
A couple weekends ago Aidan and Daniel got to see the Harlem Globetrotters! I had gotten two ticket vouchers when Aidan did the Globetrotters basketball clinic last summer. While they were there, I took Avery to get her nails painted. We spent the rest of our Mommy/Daughter time driving around with Griffin during three house showings. That's right, our house has been on the market! We have wanted more land for a while and finally decided to take the first step and get rid of the financial burden of our house. Next step is figuring out where we want to live!
This past weekend my gym sponsored a Daddy Daughter dance. Avery and Daniel went with our friends David and Kaelyn. Avery loved getting dressed up and they had so much fun! While they were away on their date, Aidan and I went on a date of our own and saw the Lego movie! I'm so glad that Daniel and I have both had one-on-one time with each kid recently :)
Just had to put this one in there. We had yet another No School day due to snow! I am SICK of winter!!

100th Day, Cousins, and other Miscellaneous
Today was the 100th Day at the kids' school. I came at the end of the day to take pictures of both classes.
Aidan's 2nd grade class also put on a chapel program for the whole elementary school on Tuesday called "Fruit of the Spirit." They did awesome!
We had a Cousin Sleepover Swap last week. Avery spent the night with Sage, and Logan came over to spend the night with Aidan!
I had lunch with three of my favorite cousins this past weekend!
We also had Cookie, Jeff, and Gigi in town last weekend and they got to come to Aidan's basketball game!
I hung out with my mom friends one night. These girls keep me sane!

The Year So Far
2014 has been so busy I've forgotten to blog! We hit the ground running when school started back up. Aidan had his first basketball game of the season this past Saturday and did great! He's really improved since last year and scored seven goals for his team!
Avery's been practicing her salesmanship (ABC: Always Be Cute) and selling girl scout cookies! Our troop is doing a great job with their first year of sales, and this past weekend Avery and I went up and down our block and sold tons of boxes! I was proud of her for starting off with "Hi, I'm Avery. Would you like to buy some girl scout cookies?" each time without a shy bone in her body. We also had our first booth sale today and are looking forward to selling more (if you want some, you know who to call!).
Her troop also had a field trip to the local police station!
For Christmas, Grandpa and Nanna treated us with tickets to LEGOLAND!
Poor Griffin started off the year a little pathetic with his ear bandages, cone, stitches, and shirt...but is now free of all that and is back to his sweet, cute self!
