Happy Birthday Avery!!!
Avery is SIX today...how time flies! We had a party for her at her old gymnastics facility. We invited some old friends and also some new friends from school. It was so much fun and the birthday girl had a blast!
Yesterday I took her and Cousin Sage to Sweet & Sassy to get makeovers (Amy and I had bought Groupons). Avery also got her ears pierced...and didn't even cry!!! I was so proud of her I took them out for ice cream afterwards. And Amy and I did NOT coordinate the girls' outfits on purpose! Isn't that hilarious? Love those two :)
Today her class sang to her and I brought up some cupcakes. Her class also went on a field trip to the pumpkin patch (I'll post more on that later).
Avery, we love you SO much! We love your sweet spirit, your goofy personality, your stubbornness, your unpredictability, your beautiful smile, and your infectious laugh. Happy Birthday!!!
This and That
So, my friend Kimberly and I took crazy pills and decided to become Girl Scout leaders! Her daughter Ambrielle is in kindergarten too, so we decided to form a Daisy troop for our girls and some of their friends (we recruited Cousin Sage and our church friends Becca and Margot). We've had two meetings so far and they've actually gone surprisingly well! The girls have a lot of energy but have really not gone too crazy, knock on wood. We even went on our first field trip today and delivered canned goods to the food pantry at our church! Looking forward to more adventures with this fun group of girls :)
Aidan just finished up a six-week art class at school which he loved. I think I may enroll him in another one in the spring if they offer it. This is from his first class. He asked me to text it to Kelly (Uncle Jason's fiancée who is a very talented artist) and she was very proud!
Football season is almost over...here is a great shot of Aidan grabbing a flag:

State Fair of Texas
The kids were dismissed a little early on Grandparents Day, so we decided to go to the fair with Grammy on Opening Day! Daddy also left work early to meet us there. It was a little hot, but not too bad. We went to the petting zoo, rode rides, saw Big Tex (back at work after a little reconstructive surgery...he caught on fire the day we went last year!), watched the kids perform in a kids' circus, and of course we ate. We love this yearly tradition!!
Grandparents Day
Last Friday was Grandparents Day at GCA and Grammy got to come! The kids loved showing her their classrooms, their friends, and their teachers. There was also an assembly where each class performed a song for all the grandparents. Both of their classes had made plates for all of their grandparents, so between my two kids we had enough to give one to Papi/Grammy, Grandpa/Nanna, Cookie/Jeff, and Gigi. We are so blessed to have so many grandparents in our lives that love us so much (and vice versa!). Thanks for coming Grammy!!
