Bluebonnets 2013

Spring just isn't Spring in Texas until we get our traditional bluebonnet pictures! We found a new patch of them this year and I thought they turned out great.

Blastball and Flag Football

The kids are each trying out a new sport, and they both had their first games on Saturday. Aidan is doing flag football and loving it! A couple of his classmates and his friend Cade are on his team. Cade's mom and I made it back from the Color Run just in time to catch most of the game! Aidan's friend Kaelyn was also there to cheer him on :)

Avery's doing her first team sport, blastball (t-ball for younger kids)! My friend Julia is coaching and I'm the assistant coach. Normally there's just one base, but at the first game this past weekend they decided to let the kids run all the bases. Our girls were totally clueless and ran from first directly to third, third back to second, etc. It was hysterical. Luckily no score is kept at this level. At least they look adorable :)

Color Run!!

This past weekend my friends Tracey, Ginny, Julia, and Krysie and I ran the Color Run! I had heard about this a while back and thought it sounded like a blast, and it was!!! Everyone started out in a white shirt, and throughout the course they doused us in different colors. It was a fun change of scenery from our usual mud runs :) We had SUCH a blast and even though it was a 5K, it felt like much less!

This and That

Daniel and I celebrated our 12th anniversary on Sunday! On Saturday night our friends the Denneys generously offered to keep Aidan and Avery overnight so we could go out for a romantic dinner and have the whole night to ourselves! Capital Grille made our dinner very special and we were STUFFED.

Avery and I went to Disney on Ice on Friday which featured four of her favorite princesses (Ariel, Merida, Rapunzel, and Belle). We rode with our friends Ginny and Hailey, and Sage and Aunt Amy were also there. The girls all wore princess dresses had so much fun!!

She also started swim lessons this week!

He Is Risen!

Yesterday we did Resurrection Rolls as a family. I got the idea from my friend Tracey last year when she did this with our kids. Marshmallows (white representing Christ) are rolled in butter, cinnamon, and sugar (oils and spices) and sealed in a crescent roll (the tomb). After baking, the marshmallow has disappeared! Great Easter activity for the whole family!

Last night the Easter Bunny did something new and visited us at night! He put eggs filled with glow sticks in a path to big Easter eggs that held their treats (Legos!)

This morning we went to church and then afterwards we went to Cody and Amy's for a potluck they hosted for their church.

Happy Easter, everyone!!!
