West Texas Part 1

Over Spring Break, the kids and I went with my mom on a trip to West Texas! First stop was Hodges to see Great-Pa and Gamma. Aidan and Avery LOVE playing outdoors at their farm, especially Aidan. He even learned to play dartball!

Tonight's Top Story

Aidan's cub scout troop took a field trip to the local NBC affiliate this past week. I was way more excited about it than Aidan...I studied Telecommunications in college and interned for a non-profit and helped produce a weekly show at this same station one summer, plus I interned for the CBS affiliate in Waco my senior year and got to help out with the noon news. It was fun to be back in a studio and I always love seeing what goes into a broadcast. We met David Finfrock (the weatherman who has been around FOREVER) and he took us around, and we even got to be in the studio while they were filming the 6:00 newscast. The anchors were all very nice and the boys got to see so much. Aidan's favorite part was playing with the greenscreen used in the weather forecast. Thanks KXAS!!

Pink Weekend

This past weekend I went with my three best friends from Baylor to see Pink in concert! Daniel used his points to get us a free room at the W Hotel right next to where she was performing (thanks Daniel!). The show was amazing and we got to see our old friend Justin. We spent the next night in Fort Worth for a change of scenery. I always have as much fun with these girls as we did back in the day. Until next time, ladies!

Perot Museum

Aidan had President's Day off so I took both kids to the newly-opened Perot Museum of Nature and Science. It was crowded, but super cool!

Pinewood, Pirouettes, Parties, and Pals

Aidan and Daniel worked together to make a car for Aidan's first Pinewood Derby this past weekend. The Batmobile didn't advance past the first round but Aidan won an award for Coolest Design!

Avery had her last ballet class last week. She isn't exactly the Black Swan but loves dance so I think I'll put her back in the dance studio in the fall.

The kids had fun at a birthday party this weekend!

I told Aidan he could invite a friend over for a sleepover and he chose Chase, his good buddy from preschool! His sister Kella is Avery's friend so we invited her too. I'm so glad my kiddos value old friendships as much as new ones. They definitely get that from me :) We saw our old friends the Jacobuses at church this past Sunday! Their three kids are right at our kids' ages and we were so bummed when they moved away a few years ago. Here's a cute "then & now" picture I took!
