At the Farm
On the way to and from Midland, we stopped by Hodges to stay with Great-Pa and Gamma on their farm. Uncle Jason also met us there. Aidan got to ride in the trail wagon in the farm, and then the kids had a "country bath" outside. Aidan also got to help Grammy lick the mashed potato beaters (I know it's weird, but it's a Grammy thing).

Back from West Texas
Grammy, the kids, and I drove to West Texas to see our family. In Midland we saw Mema, Aunt Jeri, Uncle Reggie, and Cousin Jessica (and also saw Aunt Marsha and Cousin Cole on the way). We ate at Luigi's, a longtime Jolly Family favorite. Aidan had a blast swimming in the pool and playing with Clyde the dog!

Fun times
Here's another picture for the rehearsal dinner slideshow! Aidan found knee-highs and heels in my closet and actually put them on himself. Soccer tot by day, cross-dresser by night? Next we have Avery in her almost-crawling pose. She's been doing a lot of rocking back and forth on her hands and knees, so I know the heavenly stage of her sitting still is coming to an end. Her 9-month check-up was today and she weighed in at 17 lbs. 1 oz (20th percentile), and 27 1/2 inches long (25th percentile)!

Happy Birthday America!!
We had a great 4th of July! Last night there were some fireworks really close to our house, so we woke up a very sleepy Aidan so he could watch them with us on the driveway. Today we went to the Sachse Parade which went right outside our neighborhood, then we threw some sausage and burgers on the grill and had dinner with Cody, Amy, and Baby Sage. We ate some red-white-and-blue cupcakes that I made and then had our first official cousin photo session! After they went home home we enjoyed some popsicles and firecrackers with our next-door neighbors and their kids. Yes, the group photo of us is very crooked and out of focus. Our "photographer" had been celebrating quite a bit :)

Sage is here!!
Aidan and Avery got a new cousin today! Uncle Cody and Aunt Amy's daughter Sage Elizabeth was born at 8:26 a.m. weighing 8 lbs. 2 oz. Avery and I went up to the hospital today and although Avery didn't actually get to meet Sage yet, I did and she is BEAUTIFUL! Everybody is doing great, and Daniel and I are very proud of our new niece :)

New Steward Crib!
Here's another reason this past week has been really busy. We just bought a new house! This house was a foreclosure and had pretty much everything we wanted at a fantastic deal! We just had it inspected and will probably close sometime next month, assuming all goes well with a plumbing issue we are having checked out. It's in a large community in Sachse called Woodbridge. In the meantime, our current house is still on the market which is actually a good thing (for now, at least!) because we won't be ready to move into the new house until probably August. There is a little bit of work that needs to be done on the inside, including new flooring, paint, and countertops for the kitchen. Stay tuned for updates!

Crazy Week
It's been a VERY busy week for us with Daniel out of town and then having surgery, so I haven't taken very many pictures. But here are a few of the kids just goofing off in the playroom one afternoon. They are really starting to enjoy each others' company which is so much fun. Avery laughs harder at Aidan than at anyone else. And Aidan really likes being her entertainer. Anyway, Daniel had his deviated septum "unkinked" yesterday so he's been recovering from that. Special thanks to Aunt Lindsay for driving him downtown and waiting with him for what seemed like FOREVER, to my friend Tracey for keeping Aidan, and to Aunt Amy and Uncle Cody for keeping a VERY fussy and uncooperative Avery!!

Father's Day Shirt
I am getting requests to post the Father's Day t-shirt that the kids and I worked on for Daniel. Keep in mind that it was quite an undertaking with a toddler and a baby (and I am not crafty/artistic to begin with!). Avery was not cooperative with doing her handprints, and we could not keep from getting paint all over the shirt. I actually did two shirts with help first from my mom and then Aunt Amy, but the second one was barely better than the first. But Daniel loves it (or he's very good at lying) and plans to wear it proudly...while mowing the grass :)
