Sage is here!!

Aidan and Avery got a new cousin today! Uncle Cody and Aunt Amy's daughter Sage Elizabeth was born at 8:26 a.m. weighing 8 lbs. 2 oz. Avery and I went up to the hospital today and although Avery didn't actually get to meet Sage yet, I did and she is BEAUTIFUL! Everybody is doing great, and Daniel and I are very proud of our new niece :)

New Steward Crib!

Here's another reason this past week has been really busy. We just bought a new house! This house was a foreclosure and had pretty much everything we wanted at a fantastic deal! We just had it inspected and will probably close sometime next month, assuming all goes well with a plumbing issue we are having checked out. It's in a large community in Sachse called Woodbridge. In the meantime, our current house is still on the market which is actually a good thing (for now, at least!) because we won't be ready to move into the new house until probably August. There is a little bit of work that needs to be done on the inside, including new flooring, paint, and countertops for the kitchen. Stay tuned for updates!

Crazy Week

It's been a VERY busy week for us with Daniel out of town and then having surgery, so I haven't taken very many pictures. But here are a few of the kids just goofing off in the playroom one afternoon. They are really starting to enjoy each others' company which is so much fun. Avery laughs harder at Aidan than at anyone else. And Aidan really likes being her entertainer. Anyway, Daniel had his deviated septum "unkinked" yesterday so he's been recovering from that. Special thanks to Aunt Lindsay for driving him downtown and waiting with him for what seemed like FOREVER, to my friend Tracey for keeping Aidan, and to Aunt Amy and Uncle Cody for keeping a VERY fussy and uncooperative Avery!!

Father's Day Shirt

I am getting requests to post the Father's Day t-shirt that the kids and I worked on for Daniel. Keep in mind that it was quite an undertaking with a toddler and a baby (and I am not crafty/artistic to begin with!). Avery was not cooperative with doing her handprints, and we could not keep from getting paint all over the shirt. I actually did two shirts with help first from my mom and then Aunt Amy, but the second one was barely better than the first. But Daniel loves it (or he's very good at lying) and plans to wear it proudly...while mowing the grass :)

Tate's Party

This past Saturday we went to a birthday pool party for Aidan's friend Tate from church. Tate's grandparents actually used to be our Sunday School teachers. Aidan had a blast and crashed when it was bedtime!

Aidan Update

Aidan is a busy man these days! I can tell he misses the routine he had at Wee School on Tuesdays and Thursdays so I'm trying to be creative with how I keep him busy. This week he finger-painted and "painted" the house with water. We stay active with his playgroup and other friends so I think we'll survive the summer. We briefly enrolled in a toddler tumbling class through our city rec department, but it was very unstructured and not worth the money. Aidan and his friend Taylor spent the whole time goofing off, so Taylor's mommy and I have decided to get the kids together on our own for free instead! Aidan is kind of in a bossy phase right now, but he's doing very well with his manners (Please, Thank You, and I'm Sorry).

Avery Update

Here are some pictures of sweet Avery Kate. She has become a ham whenever she sees a camera. I propped her up by our ottoman coffee table today and she actually stood up great for a few seconds! My friend Jen gave me some very smart advice to not buy dresses for baby girls in 6-12 month size because that's when they're crawling, but sometimes I just can't resist! Avery isn't the least bit interested in crawling right now anyway, which is fine with me :) She is a lot more verbal than physical. Quite the opposite from her big brother!

So long, Brooke!

Our friends the Jacobuses are moving to College Station this week and we are so sad to see them go! We have known Lindsay and George (who's been the youth minister at our church) since before our kids were born. Brooke is a few months younger than Aidan and they have become great buddies :) So they will have to maintain a long-distance relationship now. Avery is also sad to see Brooke's baby brother and sister go. Here are some pictures of the kids over the past two years. Luckily they are not moving too far and we will stay in touch!

Groupies for a Day

Today we got to see Uncle Jason's band play! They played in the Original Penguin store in Northpark Mall. Jason (my brother) does vocals and guitar and they sound amazing! They even did Aidan's request of "Wheels on the Bus." The lead singer is a friend of Jason's named Taylor Vieger.

Grammy's pics

Here are some pictures from Grammy's camera, and a couple from our trip to Weatherford yesterday. Aunt Marsha had knee surgery last week so we went to go visit her. We also got to see Aunt Jeri who drove in from Midland!

Friends & Family

We've had a busy week! Grammy's been in town, so we celebrated her birthday by having lunch in Fort Worth with Aunt Marsha and Cousin Sara. Aidan didn't come because it was his last day of Wee School (boo hoo!!) but Avery got to join us. Uncle Walt stopped by and she loved sitting in his lap! Then on Friday we went to see my friend Jennifer that I hadn't seen in years. She was in town from Georgia and brought her kids Drew and Allie, who were right at Aidan and Avery's ages.

More water fun

We've been spending our afternoons in the backyard and so the kids can play in their new wading pool and water table (well, Aidan plays and Avery sits). I got the idea to point Aidan's slide into the pool so he has a mini-water slide.

Splish Splash

We made a quick trip to Crawford this weekend to see Grandpa, Nanna, and Uncle Jacob. Avery finally had a chance to wear the cute bathing suit that my friend Courtney got for her (thanks Court!). We bought a floatie with a sunshade on it, which we call her "cabana." She loved her first swimming experience, and Aidan had a blast too. The pool was too cold so we all played in the hot tub instead. Don't we look like a Coppertone ad with our lovely tans?
