Holidays and Birthdays

We had an amazing Christmas but sadly I didn't take any pictures of our family get-togethers!! We hosted brunch for the Dixons, Halls, and Cookie on the 23rd, and since Papi was recovering from knee surgery, we drove down after Christmas Eve service and spent that afternoon at their house in Waco. Grammy made me a delicious chicken fried steak birthday lunch, then we drove back home and spent Christmas Day at home with just us four (a first!) and went out to Del Frisco's for my birthday that night. The Steward family came over the next day so we were very happy we got to see everyone in our family except Jason, Kelly, and Hudson who were in Colorado. But like I said, zero pictures! Oops! I did get pictures of my birthday dinner out with Karli, Tunisia, and Ashley!

I went with my "sassy and classy" girls to celebrate Christmas and mine and Susan's birthdays and have our favorite things gift exchange!

We also went to our annual neighbor Christmas party at the Creels' which is always so fun! (I was very proud of my "charcuterie Christmas tree"!)

Our family (minus Aidan) also went with some of our friends to a quinceanera for our Wylie neighbor friend Evelyn! It was so fun to get dressed up and celebrate her.

Daniel had a nice but low-key birthday...we met Lindsay, Cody, and Amy for a grown-up-only lunch, then drove to Fort Worth for the last day of Aidan's basketball tournament.

Last but not least, we celebrated New Year's with our neighbor friends and I brought a cookie cake to celebrate Daniel a little more. We had a great year and we are ready to ring in 2024!

End-of-Year Activities

Avery had a busy December! She sang and sang and sang and sang...a school choir concert, a school dinner show (where I also sang Jingle Bell Rock with the parent choir!), school performance at Northpark Mall, and a church choir performance!

She also got her DRIVER'S LICENSE!!!

Aidan had his football banquet where he and the two Riley's were honored as seniors, and Aidan received 2nd Team All-District Offense and TAPPS Academic All-State awards.

He also had a basketball tournament (the Patriots came in 2nd) and went to a gingerbread house decorating party with his class!

November This and That

Our kids don't get to have all the fun! We like getting together with our friends too. Here's just one of our MANY nights at Frankie's, and also a night at Capital Grille celebrating Karli's birthday!

We spent Thanksgiving at the ranch this year with the Dixons and the Halls, and had so much fun!

Sports and College

Aidan has received four college acceptances, and these two were our favorite! Right now Arkansas is his top choice, but we were obviously so excited about the Baylor acceptance as well. I can't wait to see where he ends up!

He played his last football game earlier this month. It was a bittersweet one (a tough loss) although Aidan had a great "tornado tackle" move. I didn't really take any pics that night but there was a great write-up in the local paper about him and his teammate Riley. We have loved watching him play and we're sad it's over!

Football may be over but now it's time for basketball!

P.S. He and Summer celebrated their 1-year anniversary!
