You better Belize it!
While Avery was at camp, Daniel and I took a trip to Belize with our good friends Marcus and Jenna! After flying into Belize City, we took a puddle jumper over to our island where we stayed in a nice suite at Coco Beach Resort overlooking the ocean! We enjoyed the swim-up bar and did lots of shopping and eating in the nearby town! The boys also went deep-sea fishing (Jenna and I enjoyed a nice massage on our patio while they did this!) and then the resort took the fish they caught for us and cooked it in four different ways for us, along with some sides! We also went to a Trivia Night on our last night and DOMINATED, winning us a bunch of cash!
Pine Cove
Avery went to her first sleepaway camp and loved it! She and Sage were in the same cabin, and Sage had been before, so that made it all the much more fun. My mom made cute sticker decals for her trunk and Avery had fun decorating it! Pine Cove sent us updates and pictures throughout the week and sent us jpegs of two letters she wrote us, so we got to see and hear about all the fun she was having. There was so much she got to do including horseback riding, archery, and The Blob! She got swimmer's ear the last day of camp but it didn't seem to phase her. She was tired and disheveled when we picked her up and passed out 15 minutes into the ride home, but she had a blast!

Last Day of School & 6th Grade Graduation!
They did it! Aidan and Avery finished their first year at a brand new school and we are so proud of them! Avery got the joy award from her teacher. I think it fits her very well! She navigated through tough schoolwork, making new friends, and a teacher transition (her teacher had a baby last month) and did it all with a smile!
Aidan is officially done with elementary school and is moving on up to middle school! At his graduation, his teacher gave him the "friendliness" award and said that this year he learned not to give up, and that he was proud of himself for starting over in a new city and making new friends (we are proud of him for this too!). He made the A/B Honor Roll and as if that wasn't enough, he was given an award by both his P.E. teacher for athleticism and inclusiveness, and his band teacher for excellence and dedication. Way to go Aidan!
