Last Days of Summer

The kids and I went to the local movie theater with Cousin Meredith for Retro Night! They were showing Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory and it was so much fun!!

Avery has been a huge fan of helping in the kitchen lately. Those Jolly Girl genes run deep!

We had a cool front come in and it was nice enough to ride our bikes around the block without sweating through our clothes!

We had a few last playdates and sleepovers with friends:

And a bunch of the girls from Avery's class got together to get their nails and toenails painted the day before school started.

Aidan had a quick surgery to remove an ear tube that's been in there since kindergarten. It went great and he was back to normal by the time we got home!

Florida!

Shortly after we moved into our new house, Grammy flew into town for a short visit and then she flew back to Florida with the kids! They enjoyed some "Papi & Grammy" time in Fort Lauderdale and went on an Everglades boat tour where they got to see some neat animals:

Daniel and I had a great couple of days to ourselves, then we flew out to join our family! Papi and Grammy treated us to a yummy dinner:

We also enjoyed some fun beach time on A1A (right across from our hotel):

We also went on a fun Pirate tour. Aidan was a little "too cool" to participate (hello, preteen years!) and neither one of the kids were really excited about wearing pirate gear like the rest of the kids on the tour, but it was fun. The "pirates" stayed in character the whole time and were really fun. Aidan perked up when he heard we were sailing by Dwayne Wade's house...we also saw Arnold Schwartzenegger's former house and the house that Miami Vice and Scarface were filmed at:

I also got to see my good friend and old co-worker Manana from my UTD days! She and her husband just moved to Boca Raton with their son so our families had a great time at dinner together:

We went to a science museum the next day which was really fun for the kids!

Burger Lake

We closed out our summer break with a trip to Burger Lake with Tracey and Kaelyn! We had gone last year and loved it, so we went again and this time my mom was in town so she got to join us!

Home Sweet HOME!
