We lost our very best friend this month. Griffin, our loyal lovable supermutt, stopped eating one day and tests showed issues with his stomach and kidneys that didn't improve with medicine. He was very lethargic and became unable to use his back legs. We knew he was telling us it was time. We made plans with his very caring vet on Friday, and over the weekend we spent every moment loving on him and making him comfortable (Daniel cooked a filet to perfection for his last dinner). Then on Monday, after a very long and lovely life, he peacefully crossed the Rainbow Bridge. We were able to stay with him and tell him he was a good boy until the very end. It's a huge loss and we are still getting used to the quiet around the house and the void in our hearts. Griffin was the perfect dog for our family and brought us so much joy. We had him for exactly 128 months and we will miss him forever.

Miscellaneous June
Avery went on her youth choir's mission trip to New Orleans, then both the kids went to youth camp!
Costa Rica Part 2
After a few days on the beach, we drove inland and stayed at The Springs resort near the Arenal volcano! This place was amazing and the view of the volcano was incredible...I couldn't take enough pictures of it! We took a shuttle to a nearby "adventure" area with white water rafting and an animal sanctuary. We didn't get to hug a sloth like Avery and I were hoping, but we still saw a couple and a bunch of other really neat animals. They had hot springs interspersed with the swimming pools and it felt amazing. We were sad to leave!
Costa Rica Part 1
After a month of graduation/end-of-year craziness and a few days of no power and electricity, we emptied out our fridge, packed in the dark, and then hopped on a plane for Aidan's graduation trip to Costa Rica! We decided to let the kids each invite a friend so Avery brought Olivia, but since Summer couldn't make it Aidan decided to not bring anyone. After a horrendous day of traveling (our flight was delayed and delayed and delayed from 7pm to 6am and after all that they forgot to send our luggage until the NEXT day), we arrived and drove our rental car to Jaco Beach where we spent our first 3 nights in a condo on the beach. We had a great view and the housekeeper Raquel even made us breakfast one morning. We definitely got our fill of delicious food and drinks on this trip! There was even a small casino nearby so Daniel and I took Aidan gambling since he was a newly legal adult!
