End-of-Year Activities

Avery had a busy December! She sang and sang and sang and sang...a school choir concert, a school dinner show (where I also sang Jingle Bell Rock with the parent choir!), school performance at Northpark Mall, and a church choir performance!

She also got her DRIVER'S LICENSE!!!

Aidan had his football banquet where he and the two Riley's were honored as seniors, and Aidan received 2nd Team All-District Offense and TAPPS Academic All-State awards.

He also had a basketball tournament (the Patriots came in 2nd) and went to a gingerbread house decorating party with his class!

November This and That

Our kids don't get to have all the fun! We like getting together with our friends too. Here's just one of our MANY nights at Frankie's, and also a night at Capital Grille celebrating Karli's birthday!

We spent Thanksgiving at the ranch this year with the Dixons and the Halls, and had so much fun!

Sports and College

Aidan has received four college acceptances, and these two were our favorite! Right now Arkansas is his top choice, but we were obviously so excited about the Baylor acceptance as well. I can't wait to see where he ends up!

He played his last football game earlier this month. It was a bittersweet one (a tough loss) although Aidan had a great "tornado tackle" move. I didn't really take any pics that night but there was a great write-up in the local paper about him and his teammate Riley. We have loved watching him play and we're sad it's over!

Football may be over but now it's time for basketball!

P.S. He and Summer celebrated their 1-year anniversary!

October Miscellaneous

Senior Day for the football seniors wasn't the one they expected or deserved, but we rolled with it. Nonstop rain the week leading up to the game (and a monsoon the night before) meant our field was underwater. We were able to use a nearby school's turf field that we had played on before, but that meant the boys had played their last home game the weekend before and didn't realize it. Our athletic team went above and beyond to still make the day special for them. Since it was still raining before the game, we moved the senior presentation to halftime. It had stopped raining by then, but since we were playing the toughest team in the district, they 45'd us and the game was over. Our boys had 45'd other teams plenty of time but this was the first time I remember it being done to us. Needless to say they were pretty broken-hearted and bummed out during their presentation, but we as parents could not be more proud of them! Way to go Aidan, Riley C, and Riley P! We really appreciate Grandpa and Nanna Steward, Cody and Logan Dixon, and our neighbor friend Ken for braving the rain to cheer him on!

We started the month with a choir concert for Avery and we also saw the Taylor Swift Eras tour movie. We went with Tracey and Kaelyn, and Summer was able to join us! The movie made us feel like we were at the concert which was so fun since we didn't get to go to the actual concert! The girls sang every word to every song - I sang along with a few but mostly just snacked on popcorn!

We ended the month with Halloween! Low-key for us and Daniel was in London, but Aidan and Summer went to at a party, and Avery and I hung out in our old neighborhood. The adults watched Game 4 of the World Series and cheered the Rangers on to a victory, and then I took several of the teens to the local haunted car wash (I was extra proud of scairdy-cat Avery for being brave and trying something new!)

Last but not least, here are the kids' school pictures! I still can't comprehend the cap and gown one!
