Homecoming Part 3

One of the benefits of having the kids' Homecomings at the same time was that we got to use the fabulous WPA photographer Carol for Avery and her date Landon and their friends as well! Carol did NOT disappoint and the pictures of all the kids were so amazing. Aidan looked handsome - and had a beautiful date! Avery looked GORGEOUS and Landon was handsome as well! Avery was happy to get to see some of her WPA friends at pictures too. After that it was off to dinners, the dance, and after-parties!

Homecoming Part 2

The Patriots had an AMAZING Homecoming game and Aidan scored 3 touchdowns! All of his grandparents were there to see which was so special. He was recognized with the HoCo court at halftime. He didn't win king, but we are happy for King Layton and Queen Jacey! The team pulled out a great win, and the boys didn't know it at the time but it would be the last game they'd play at their home field.

Homecoming Part 1

Even though Aidan and Avery go to different high schools, their Homecomings fell on the same weekend this year which made for an incredibly busy but fun week! For Spirit Week, Aidan's "house" did Scooby Doo for Cartoon Day, and Clue for Board Game Day. On Friday he and Summer wore their mum and garter they had worked on together, and Aidan was also on the Homecoming Court this year! He was recognized for that at the pep rally, plus as a member of the football team.

Avery had Pajama Day, Adam Sandler Day (which fell on her birthday), Anything but a Backpack Day, and Frat Boy Day. Friday was Spirit Day and I found someone to make her the cutest overalls ever! The nicest boy asked her to Homecoming, so I got to meet him at the Sachse HoCo parade, and again at the pep rally (I literally dashed from Aidan's pep rally to hers!) .

Sic 'Em Bears!

Avery and I made a fun mom/daughter/Aunt Jenna trip to Baylor where we saw the outside of our old dorm that had been remodeled (they wouldn't let us inside - boo!) and the brick that we donated, ran into Jen and Corinne at the bookstore, visited the cute new bears, and tailgated for a bit before we went to the game!

Sweet Sixteen!

Avery turned SIXTEEN this month which I can't even wrap my head around! We rented a foam machine again since it was such a hit last year, but it wasn't as popular as the girls this time - I think the weather was cold this year! I still made them get in so I could get our money's worth but they had more fun in the hot tub! A friend loaned me the numbers, and another friend helped me with the balloon pillars. I am NOT decor-talented but I thought it all turned out pretty cute! Avery also got a new car for her birthday - she won't get her license for another few weeks but she is getting lots of practice!
