Daniel & Lauren's European Tour Part 1

While the kids were away on their mission trip, Daniel and I took off for Europe! He went to Poland for work and I met him in Munich a couple days later. We spent the night there and took the train to Salzburg for a few days he had in between work trips. Salzburg was gorgeous and the weather was amazing! There was so much to see and the highlight was the Sound of Music tour! We saw all the sights from the movie and of course had singalongs on the bus. I loved every part of the tour but seeing the cathedral (in a small town called Mondsee) was probably my favorite. Daniel was such a good sport since musicals are not his thing. We also went to the Fortress Hohensalzburg, walked along a street fair along the Salzach River, walked Getreidegasse, saw Mozart's birthplace, Salzburg Cathedral, and St. Peter's, and ate veal weinerschnitzel and apple strudel!

Youth Group Mania!

June was all about church trips for Aidan and Avery! Both kids went on a youth choir mission trip to Branson, Avery went to Super Summer, and then both kids went to youth camp! So glad they are part of an awesome youth group with fun kids and ways to serve and grow closer to God!

End-of-School Mania: Avery Edition

Avery wrapped up her first year of high school and we are so proud of her! She was awarded Geography Student of the Year and was elected Secretary/Treasurer of an after-school bible study group for next year! She had one last choir concert and then a Masquerade choir banquet which was very fancy! Our friend Ambrielle did Avery's hair and makeup and she looked stunning! She and I also had our last NCL activity at Painting-with-a-Twist. She wasn't feeling great that day so I ended up helping her so she could keep up with the pace...I think it would have turned out much better if she had done it all without me!

End-of-School Mania: Aidan Edition

Aidan wrapped up his junior year and is now a senior! He and his class wore their new "Senior" shirts on the last day of school. Most of his end-of-year craziness was in April since their school year ends so early in May, but he did coach a Powder Puff game and we took one last college visit to North Texas! We also had Summer and the Dixons and Halls over for a rainy Memorial Day swim!
