Prom

Even though Aidan currently has a super-cute girlfriend, he wasn't allowed to take her to junior/senior prom because she's a sophomore - gotta love our school and their dumb rules. So when he ran the idea past me to wear dorky money suits with his friends, I said why not? They got ready at Brady's house (who also has a sophomore girlfriend he couldn't bring) and they had a ton of fun posing for pics with Brady's mom while I worked with the prom committee to set up the dance.

All About Avery

Avery had a choir concert preview before their UIL performance. Grandpa, Nanna, Papi, and Grammy all drove up from Waco to watch!

She also participated in the high school youth choir musical (Aidan operated the spotlights) and she is looking forward to going on the choir mission trip this summer!

All About Aidan

Aidan closed out a great basketball season and celebrated with his teammates at the basketball banquet. Next time he plays he'll be a senior!

He and I went on a college tour to Arkansas University and while it was a bit of a long drive (5 hours), we both loved it! Campus had a great feel and we also ran into his friend Cade who was also touring, and his football teammate Jake who will be a freshman there next year! A bonus for me was touring the Kappa Delta house with my friend's daughter Grace who just pledged. So fun!

He took a field trip with his class to the George W. Bush library, started spring training for football, and he and I did our last YMSL service project (Summer joined us!).

Last but not least, he turned 17! It was a very low-key birthday which is what he wanted!

Gamma

We lost our last grandparent recently, my beloved grandmother "Gamma." I have so many fun memories of her but the thing that I remember most is that she was a "grandkid ally"...she had my back whether it came to secretly scraping food off my place when my dad said I had to eat all my dinner, or pouring a bowl of my favorite cereal for me before Jason and my cousin Scott finished off the box just to be mean. I loved hearing her laugh and loved playing games with her, and EVERYONE loved her cooking! We are so happy that she's reunited in heaven with Pa but she will be so missed!

College Tours

Aidan and I went on two college tours over Spring Break and I think right now these are the two to beat! First we went to Texas A&M with his buddy Brady and his mom Amy who's an Aggie herself. The Baylor Bear in me was secretly rolling my eyes at all the "Howdys" and the chants and traditions, but Aidan really liked it! Then we went to Baylor and it was fun to see how much has changed since I was a student! The new business school was really impressive and even has a sports marketing branch that interested him. We can't wait to see where he ends up!

Girls' Weekend in Waco!

I spent the weekend with my good buddies Leslie and Jen in Waco! Leslie flew into Dallas and rode down with me, and Jen came up from Houston. We went to a Baylor basketball game where we got to see my parents, then went to the Magnolia silos and went shopping for Baylor gear! The weather was gorgeous and of course we laughed nonstop. Our favorite part of these girls' weekends is getting in bed to watch Netflix crime documentaries at night. We really know how to party!
