Spring Break Part 1!

We did something different for our Spring Break this year and went skiing with our friends the Trans!  After a long drive in on Day One, Avery, Bailee, and Blakeley got to go on a dog sledding adventure on Day Two and had so much fun! We hit the slopes the third day with an instructor I hired since Daniel and the kids had never skied. I was nervous that I'd be out of practice and out of shape (I haven't skied in 26 years!) but it came right back to me. Our instructor was helpful, but Avery got freaked out by the gondola and melted down when she tried to get up on her skis. We let her chill out while the rest of us practiced, but by the time we rode up to the very top of the hill for lunch and more practice, we were exhausted and out of breath from the altitude so we called it a day. On Day Three Avery stayed in the condo with Daniel while he did some work, and Aidan and I had a great day skiing with the Trans down some green slopes (Jonathan turned out to be way more helpful than our instructor)! Aidan did amazing!

Grease and Valentine's Day

We were so excited to see Kaelyn play Marty the Pink Lady in her school's production of Grease!  I almost rushed the stage to join the show but the high schoolers did great without me, especially Kaelyn who had an amazing solo!

Daniel and I went to our 3rd annual Valentine's Day progressive dinner with our neighbor friends!  We had appetizers at our house, then drove to Wylie for the rest of the legs (dinner, dessert, and drinks!). We always have so much fun with this group!

This and That

We've had a couple of ice days this year!  Not nearly as bad as last year's, but we did lose power for just a few hours once, and our basketball net was frozen when the kids tried to play!  I would like to declare winter OVER!

Griffin had minor surgery to remove a tumor from his side. Wearing the cone has been no fun!

Avery got her first vaccination dose (in preparation for our trip to New York!), made a family tree for Spanish, and finally surpassed me, height-wise!

The kids had D-Now at church, and Aidan went on WPA's high school retreat. Luckily those weekends didn't coincide with bad weather!

I went to a premiere party for a PSA I helped produce last year! It was fun to see the finished product and see my name in the credits!

Starting off 2022 With Sports!

 January and February have been pretty low-key, which we are thankful for!  We started off the year with a basketball tournament in Paris! (Texas, haha) The Patriot boys came in 3rd place but played great!

Aidan also had his football banquet where he was awarded 2nd Team All-District Wide Receiver Honors!

He also played a basketball game in Fort Worth and the Dueeases came to watch (plus Papi and Grammy)!
