Meredith and A.J. Get Hitched!

We were so excited to celebrate my cousin Meredith's wedding to A.J.!  Covid had delayed this wedding a few months, and then the massive ice storm threatened to derail it, but they haven't met the Jolly family!  We started the festivities with a bridal luncheon at my house, followed by the rehearsal dinner at El Fenix, then cousin hangout time at the hotel, and the wedding and reception the next day!  Jason found a last-minute flight after their original flight was cancelled, but we missed Kelly and Hudson, Barb, Cole, and their kids. We partied Jolly-style and had such a great time!  Avery had fun hanging out with A.J.'s daughter Emma, and Jessica's daughter Anna Claire stole the show as flower girl/dancing queen!  Congrats Meredith and A.J.!!

IcePocalypse 2021

Texas was slammed with a major ice storm unlike anything we'd ever seen before!  There was a drastic temperature drop (A NEGATIVE NUMBER!) and actual SNOW that lasted for days!  The kids had a great time with their cousins playing outside, and Daniel drug them around on inner tubes with his riding lawn mower.  We lost power for about a day and a half except for a couple of short breaks where it came back on, but our water was fine (no burst pipes unlike a few of our unlucky friends) and no other significant damage.  The night we lost power, we watched a movie on my iPad and slept around the fire.  Papi and Grammy came in town the next day since Meredith's wedding was a few days later, but they braved it at our place while the kids and I spent the night at friends' houses who had power.  The next day our power was back and then it was full steam ahead for Meredith's wedding weekend!

Crazy February

Well, this month was anything but boring!  We had a historic ice storm and a wedding, but here are some more low-key highlights!  Avery got her braces off which was very exciting (and we were surprised to see our friend Addy there getting hers off too!), Aidan had his football and basketball banquets (he got a "Most Improved" award at his basketball banquet and was also recognized for being the 3rd-highest scorer on the JV team, which was impressive since he's on a team with sophomores and juniors!), we had fun with friends, and I treated my family with goodie boxes from a local baker and some yummy stew for Valentine’s Day.
