Lake Travis
The kids and I got home from Tulsa, did laundry, slept, and then we all four got up and drove to Lake Travis with our Wylie neighbors! We all rented condos at a resort right on the lake and had a blast hanging out at the pool, jumping off nearby cliffs, tubing behind the boat that belongs to our friends the Corleys, feeding the deer that were all around the resort, and we even rented a party barge with a slide that we took out into the lake! We ended the trip with dinner in a private room at The Oasis. We even had a visit from a ring-tailed cat that hung out right above us and entertained the kids! It was so much fun to get away and enjoy time with friends!
Tulsa
Tracey and I took the kids to Tulsa for our annual mini-vacay! We rented a cute AirBNB close to downtown and went to the Gathering Place (an enormous outdoor park with gardens, playgrounds, and parks), did some indoor rock climbing, saw Shrek at a drive-in movie, had dinner at a fun restaurant with tons of board games you could play, played even more games at the house, got to witness a friend's adoption of her baby boy via Zoom, and ended the trip by going to a fun waterpark that had some exotic animals on display. There were hardly any crowds ANYWHERE so we weren't too worried about germs!
Burger's Lake
The kids and I joined the Denneys and Lackeys for our annual trip to Burger's Lake! Aidan brought his friend Connor so he wouldn't be the only boy, and Avery's best friend Ava from Fort Worth met us there! This is one of our favorite spots and it was not crowded at all, so we easily social distanced from others!
Not Your Average Summer!
By June, things started to open up around us and we slowly ventured out more! We have never been so happy to hang out with family and friends! We swam with friends and cousins (Aidan is finally taller than Kaelyn for the first time ever!), celebrated Father's Day, made some crab cakes on the new grill, lounged around with Griffin, ate corn dogs at the Fletcher's truck which came to our old neighborhood, had Meredith and A.J. over for dinner, met a cute pug, continued to wear masks when we were in public, and even saw the International Space Station orbitting overhead!
