Firefly Run

I ran with some friends in the DFW Firefly 5K this past Saturday. I'm not a morning person so nighttime 5K's really appeal to me :) It was CRAZY crowded this year (7,000 runners this year compared to 3,000 last year when I ran it with my friend Julia) which made it hard to keep a good pace so my time (37:04) ended up being over a minute slower than my best. Plus I walked a little bit which made me mad at myself, but I blame it on being sick for the past week. But disappointing performance aside, anything is fun when you do it with friends! Especially when you have t-shirts made :) Way to go, Real Housewives of Murphy/Sachse!

Bluebonnets!

They crack me up with the kissing sometimes...they get a little aggressive and silly, and it comes off as being passionate! It's totally innocent and it makes me laugh:

Welcome Spring!!

Hooray for flip flops! I'm always so happy when warmer weather gets here, even though it really wasn't very cold this winter. I took Avery to Disney on Ice this morning. The theme was Princesses so it was a perfect Mommy/Daughter outing :) She loved it!

Since we were downtown anyway, we stopped by Daddy's office for a visit before going home to pick up Aidan:

This week the kindergarteners had International Day. Each student chose a country and we picked Italy. Aidan's friend Braden did too and they looked like Mario and Luigi :)

We also had a Spring Fling at Aidan's school. I was in charge of the kindergarten class booth so I was too busy to take pictures, except this one I took of Daniel...the kids and I paid to have him put in jail for a little while!

The faculty and staff played basketball on donkeys last night which was hilarious. They also had face painting and donkey rides!

Girls Weekend!

When we got back from our West Texas trip, I took off for my annual Moms Weekend with the girls (and left my mom with the kids, since Daniel had to work so much)! This was our third year in a row...it has always been a blast and this year was no exception. We booked rooms at the Sheraton downtown and had dinner at some great places. We also went dancing, went to the St. Patty's Day parade, and just vegged out and enjoyed each other's company without kids :) Saturday night we went to Gilley's which wasn't a honky-tonk anymore, but we did get to sit on the actual mechanical bull from Urban Cowboy (one of my favorite movies) and I got to buy a t-shirt. Then we went to another honky-tonk and rode on a real mechanical bull! Funny how I don't ever come home from these "relaxing" weekends feeling very refreshed, but it is SO worth it. I love these girls so much!
