Summer Fun

We got our money's worth out of Aidan's swim trunks this weekend! We went to a birthday party for our friends Tate and Emmy on Saturday. Aidan had a blast swimming in the pool with Daddy. Last night we had a get-together with our church group at a splash park. Aidan and his friend Bryce found out what happens when you get too curious - you get sprayed in the face! Aidan also tried out his first watermelon but seemed to like eating the rind more than the good part! If that wasn't enough swimming, we went back to the same water park this morning with our Mom's Club :)

4th of July in Waco

We hung out in Waco with Aunt Jenna, Uncle Marcus, and Aidan's "cousins" Katy and Hannah. We are also expecting a new "cousin" named James right about the time Aidan is getting a new brother or sister! It actually didn't rain too much while we were in Waco, so the kids got to go to a parade in the morning. Then we had a birthday party for Katy, who turns 4 in a few days :) Aidan and Katy didn't make it to the fireworks show which started at 10:00. Only Hannah stayed strong! I'm also attaching a picture from Cookie's visit this past weekend.

The Lewis Reunion

After our Midland visit, Grammy and Aidan and I met Daddy and Papi in Abilene for the Lewis reunion. We also got to see Uncle Jason, Great-Pa (who showed Aidan his hay bales), and Gamma. With all the driving across West Texas over the past several days, Aidan had to endure a bunch of naps in the car as well as some other unusual places such as next to Papi on the recliner :) The weekend was a lot of fun, but we're glad to be home!

Midland Trip

Aidan and Grammy and I spent a few days in Midland this past week where Aidan got to see the McCaslin family, his great-grandmother Mema, and his second cousins Tyler and Clara. All the kids went swimming in the McCaslins' pool and Aidan had a blast!

We love our Daddy!

We made a special Father's Day brunch with waffles and bacon for Daddy this morning! We wish all of you dads out there a very Happy Father's Day! Aidan and I are driving to Midland with Grammy this week for a few days, then we're meeting Daddy and Papi in Abilene for the Lewis reunion next weekend. Stay tuned for updates when we get back!

Twin Friends

Here is a cute picture that my friend Sarah took of Aidan and her twin boys Rhett and Wyatt. Sarah and I have been friends since the 9th grade and we've had such fun watching our little boys become friends!

Meet the Newest Steward!

We got to see Aidan's little brother or sister in action today! Yes, we are keeping the sex of this baby a surprise :) He or she looked great and was very wiggly and active throughout the ultrasound. We're still on track for an October 29th due date, although we will have a scheduled c-section beforehand. Anyway, here is a picture of our beautiful baby, and a picture of my belly at 20 weeks. We decided it would be fun to poll our friends and family to get their guess. Let us know what you think!

Will Dance for Popsicles

Aidan has discovered a few new passions this week. We went to a water park and he had his first popsicle, which he loved (who wouldn't?). He also started dancing and he can really get down (Watch the video)! Trains are also becoming a big deal around here. For his birthday we gave him a Thomas the Train set, and Papi and Grammy gave him a train book which he loves. In the train picture you can also see his blue blanket. He's always slept with it but lately he drags it around the house. Whenever he has a fall or gets upset, the blanket makes it all better! As soon as it gets near him he calms down and sticks his thumb in his mouth :)

Sara's Wedding

I flew to South Padre this weekend to see my cousin Sara get married. The wedding was on the beach and it was beautiful! It was so great to see my family and relax on the beach for a couple of days. I missed Daniel and Aidan like crazy though, and it was good to be home :) Congratulations Sara and Adam!

Fun at Kaelyn's House

Aidan and Daddy are going to have a Boys Only weekend while I go to South Padre for my cousin's wedding. I had a lot to do today to get ready for my trip, so my friend Tracey offered to keep Aidan for a little while! He got to try out Kaelyn's water table and slide and as you can see, he really enjoyed himself :) Thanks Tracey and Kaelyn!

Waterspouts

This past week we went to a water park in Rockwall with our Little Gym friends. The two little girls in our gang couldn't make it, so it was just the boys! They had a blast running around in the water. Aidan seems to prefer this activity over just sitting in a kiddie pool!

Daddy's Jersey

Daniel's flag football jersey is one of Aidan's favorite things to go "find" in our house. He'll dig in the dresser drawers until he finds it, then drag it around the house. We tried it on him the other day and surprisingly it was a little big :)

Aunt Kathleen's Graduation

We ventured to Crawford this weekend to see Aunt Kathleen graduate from high school! I anticipated having to leave with Aidan at least once during the ceremony, but he sat quietly on Daddy's lap the whole time, flipping through his books and snacking on goldfish! Daddy eventually took him out towards the end for a diaper change, but we were so surprised at how well-behaved he was! We went to dinner afterwards to celebrate and Aidan made up for his good behavior by being VERY verbal at the restaurant (not crying, just babbling really, really loudly!). He tried out the jacuzzi at Grandpa and Nanna's house which was great because it was not too hot and not too cold. Then he took a shower and loved it! It was a busy and fun weekend. Congratulations Aunt Kathleen!

Our Busy Week

Here are some pics from last week. We had a playdate with our Little Gym friends at our house on Monday which was a lot of fun! Then we went to the kiddie pool with a few friends on Tuesday. Aidan seemed more interested in walking around the pool than he did sitting in it! And on Wednesday we went to see Daddy at the office, then played in our sandbox that afternoon!

Happy Mother's Day!

My second Mother's Day was so much fun! Aidan and Daddy treated me to a yummy take-out lunch at home today after church. Then I got to go out and have some "Mommy" time :) I'm including my first belly shot for this pregnancy (I'm 16 weeks now!). One of Aidan's new favorite things to do is walk up and down our street, so it's become part of our evening routine. Last night we baby-sat Kaelyn so she got to join us.

A new view

We flipped Aidan's car seat around this past weekend. He loves being able to look forward now! It almost makes me sad how fast he is growing up :( His purple and gold shirt is a shout-out to our LSU friends Leslie, Jack, and Dave. Geaux Tigers! Actually the shirt is a birthday gift from Papi, who went to Midland High School (also purple and gold).
