Aidan didn't feel very well this week. He came down with a fever on Tuesday and it got pretty high by Wednesday night. He hardly had an appetite and was really cranky, but luckily it went away yesterday and all he had was a runny nose. He's doing much better today! We stayed home most of the week to recuperate. Luckily we had a bunch of new birthday toys to keep us entertained! Plus there are always bookshelves and cabinets to rearrange :)

Aidan's Birthday Party :)
We survived Aidan's party on Saturday! It was such fun to have all of our family and Aidan's little friends Kaelyn, Rhett, Wyatt, Bryce, Cody, Blake, Luke, and Madeline over to help us celebrate. The theme was vehicles on wheels (VERY Aidan!). He didn't quite know what to think of his cake. He kind of picked at it and made some faces. He also wasn't too interested in opening his presents. He preferred playing with his old ones! All in all, it was a fun day! I've uploaded a bunch of pictures and I tried to put captions with each one of them, but they're not lining up, so I'll describe them here. The first couple of pictures are of all of Aidan's birthday loot, including a sand table from Grandpa and Nanna, and a table and chairs from Papi and Grammy (It is actually from the preschool department of the church where they grew up. They may have even sat in those very chairs as preschoolers themselves! Aunt Lindsay painted it white and put chalkboard paint on the top). There's also a picture of his birthday cake, and his new Thomas the Train chair, which he wasn't really sure what to do with! You can also see his new tunnel which his uncles Cody and Jacob had more fun with than he did. He's also wearing a Mastec construction hat in one of the pictures, making Papi proud! Last is a picture of him snoozing with Grammy after he got a little overwhelmed. Thanks to everyone who helped make Aidan's birthday so wonderful, and for being such a special part of his life over the past year! We are truly blessed :)

One year old!!!

Today is Aidan's first birthday! It's hard to believe a whole year has passed since he came into our lives. Grammy and I took him to get his one-year portraits yesterday. It was a challenge to get him to stay in one spot! His birthday party is tomorrow so I'll post pictures as soon as we all recover!!

Surprise!

Aidan has been keeping a secret for several weeks. He is getting a little brother or sister!!! I am 12 weeks pregnant and due on October 29th. It was a big surprise to be expecting again so soon, but we are so thrilled and excited. Our first sonogram was March 16th and we got to see the baby's heartbeat. It was very fast which according to the wives' tale indicates a girl, but Aidan's was always very fast! Here is the baby's first picture. I couldn't make out this sonogram as well as I could with Aidan's, but that baby is in there and doing great! :) More updates to come!

Hoppy Easter!

Aidan's first Easter was a fun success! We got up and went to the 8:00 service at church (which we never do!) and by the time we got out of Sunday School, Aidan was wiped out from playing in the nursery for so long. He needed a diaper change when we got home, but he was so conked out that he snoozed on the floor while I changed him! After his nap we went to Uncle Cody and Aunt Amy's for lunch. It was too cold to go outside so Aidan's first Easter egg hunt was in the living room! I'm also attaching a picture of our visit to the mall Easter bunny. Aidan can full-on walk now, without our prodding! He surprises us by venturing out for a few steps on his own. I'll try to get some pictures of him in action.

Naked Truck Driving
Aidan is becoming more and more of a walker these days. He can walk on his own but is very cautious and prefers to have something to push or hold onto. He especially loves this truck that Papi and Grammy gave him for Christmas. Here he is after taking a shower with Daddy this weekend, enjoying two of his favorite things: being naked and pushing his truck.

Easter party
Our MOMS club had an Easter party this week, where the kids got to hunt for eggs and meet the Easter bunny! Aidan only got two eggs, since he couldn't really keep up with all the walkers and runners. But he was happy to sit and study his two eggs. His Easter basket is one that his "Aunt" Leslie made for him last year, before he was born!

Joe Cool
We took a walk today and it was so sunny that Aidan wore his new sunglasses. He also played in his very own fort a few nights ago, when we had a big empty TV box handy. One of his favorite things to do nowadays is push things. He loves walking but is too nervous to do so without something for support, whether it be a kitchen chair or his stroller, or one of our fingers.

Hangin' out in Waco
Aidan and I traveled to Waco on Wednesday to hang out with Aunt Jenna, Katy, and Hannah. Katy though Aidan was "super cute" but Hannah wasn't as crazy about him. She tolerated him at a distance but protested when he got too close. We spent the night and drove back this morning. It was a fun mid-week trip!

Out of Gas
Poor Aidan came down with a sinus infection yesterday. He woke up the night before with a fever and although we were able to get it back down that night, it stayed between 100 and 102 the next day. So we stayed inside (except for a trip to the doctor) to recuperate. Today the fever was gone and he felt 110% better :) He fought his afternoon nap but then crashed in his stroller when we went walking with Tracey and Kaelyn later that day.
